Easy, Oven Baked Potato Chips...

Who doesn't love chips? (okay, may you don't)...


Growing up...

I know I did and...

I'm pretty sure I was known as the Chip Queen to many.


I remember going to the corner store always buying myself a bag (or two) of potato chips and...

Loving every crispy fried potato slice that entered my mouth. (I loved all flavours although BBQ was my least fave)


I have great memories of sharing sour cream and onion chips with my Dad.

I just couldn't resist not sharing it.
It made me laugh.

That being said....

I did grow out of my chip addiction later on in life (like in my 20s lol) although...

Just recently...

I found myself making a 'healthier' version, if you will, of...

This child(adult)hood favourite treat of mine!


These chips aren't the same as your most popular brands out there but..

They do make for a FUn alternative should you crave something along the chip lines.

If anything...

I know SuperFit has been lovin' it when I've taken the time to bake these for him alongside...

A roast chicken (see recipe from last week)...


These little chippies have been making an appearance more often than not!

With all of the said and baked (not fried!)...

Let's get on with my recipe shall we?

Easy, Oven Baked Potato Chips

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30-35 minutes

  • 1-2 large russet potato (depends on how many you want to make)
  • Olive oil to spray
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  1. Pre-heat your oven to bake at 425F
  2. Microwave your russet potato for about 2 minutes (this will make slicing a lot easier!)
  3. Slice your potatoes 1/4 inch thick
  4. Add the sliced potatoes into a glass bowl and let soak for about 2 minutes
  5. Drain
  6. Once drained, throw your potatoes back in the bowl and spray on some olive oil and salt and pepper to taste (you can add more salt once they are done baking)
  7. Toss so that all slices are coated evenly
  8. Spray your baking sheet with a touch of olive oil and arrange your potato slices about 1/4 inch apart (no need to measure!)
  9. Place in the oven and bake for 15 minutes
  10. Turn heat down to 400F
  11. Take potatoes out of the oven and flip them over
  12. Bake for another 15-20 minutes until crisp
  13. Remove from oven and place the chips on a piece of parchment paper and let them cool for about 10 minutes
  14. Feel free to add more seasoning once you are ready to eat them!

  4. Yes I love oven baked chips! Your tip about microwaving them a bit first is so helpful! I remember watching Bobby Flay and he always recommended that as well!

  6. Ooh, yummy. I prefer baked, homemade chips to anything out of a bag. Though when I was a teenager lunch frequently was a bag of Fritos :-). Yes, I've come a long ways.
