#RECIPEFRIDAY: Savouring What's Good...

I'm officially one year older as of...

Yesterday!

Yay for birthday bread!

My oh my how time quickly passes by...

Even when you're working so hard at slowing things down a notch :P

That being said...

I have been enjoying my birthday festivities...

Drink included

And...

I plan to continue on savouring it for another little while longer! (Which is way more than just food! lol)

On the topic of savouring...

I thought we'd keep our conversation on a lighter note today and really...

Just focus on food and all things tasty!

I mean....

It IS #RECIPEFRIDAY after all!

Chocolate chips are a wonderFUl thing in bread :P

So...

Friends...

I think time you share with me what you've been savouring as of late because...

I'm sure it's bound to be filled with nothing but good!

Lost and Found: Motivation

I often hear people talking about motivation.

How the motivation they once had slowly (or quickly) faded without them even...

Realizing it. (Until, that is, they realized it.)

In many ways...

This unintended loss of motivation can often happen to all of us as it relates to...

Life, our physical and mental wellness, and really...

Anything it is (was) that we set ourselves out to achieve. (Big or small, or somewhere in between)

So let's talk about healthy living...

You know when you're all excited about getting started on that new, healthy living venture that you've long awaited to actually, (like) actually start...

And...

As much as you'd like to begin in that very moment...

You find yourself saying...

"On Monday, I'm going to start my 'diet'!"
"Okay, tomorrow, it's time to get serious!"
"Getting healthy and fit will be my New Year's resolution! Good thing it's few months away so I still have time to......"
"I really need to exercise. I'll look into what I can do later this week."
"No really, I'm starting tomorrow."

So really, what happens here is...

That motivation you had has come and gone in matter of words. Just like that.

And trust me, I know this to be true because...

I've been there, said that! (And I know how quickly this 'healthy' thought can vanish before even lifting a finger!)

**I mean heck...it took me 7 years to actually get a move on things!**

I'll start after this marshmallow :P

That being said...

I do very much realize how difficult it can be sometimes to put in the energy into making the changes you want last...

Let alone...

Keeping that motivation high when...

It feels like the effort you're putting can only be felt in millimetres rather than inches.

I mean...

We all go through ups and downs when it comes to having that self-motivation to get things done (consistently)...

And, believe it or not...

These highs and lows even happens to those who seem to be the most motivated too! (We're all human, not machines.)

But...

If you stay the course, trust the process, and give yourself time to reap from the benefits of the lifestyle...

Your motivation to take care of yourself will come more naturally because...

You will feel good overall, both inside and out.

It's about balance.
It's about finding a structure that works for you...
To keep going at a steady pace, consistently.
Not just sometimes.

Having said that...

When looking at the big picture (it's not always about the inches!)...

Healthy living is not about about going FUll throttle all.the.time to keep yourself motivated...

Yet, it's about...

Being consistent (and mindFUl) in reaching and maintaining your goals so that...

You can make the changes you want last while also...

Keeping that motivation from fading away. (If you don't give yourself time and space to grow, you'll slowly grow tried and slowly inch off what you committed yourself too in the first place. Balance is truly key.)

**

At the end of the day...

If you feel like you've lost your motivation, or you feel like it's slowly trickling away...

Look deep inside of yourself...

Because...

You do have that spark to light up a fire and...

To keep it from extinguishing!

Have you felt like your motivation was lost? How did you find it?

#RECIPEFRIDAY: Oldies but Goodies...

And so it was the Friday before the weekend...

How time has just flown by this week! (I've been trying really hard to pace myself...so yes, I am being mindFUl about the need to slow down, even when things feel like they are going a million miles an hour <--- total exaggeration...sort of lol)

But honestly...

I can't believe only six days remain until it's my bday :P

Who doesn't start celebrating their birthday a month early?! :)
Yes, this dates back a month ago lol

I mean...

Has it been a year since my last birthday?

Did I mention how quickly time can pass us by?!

Birthday mileage from last year.

Okay okay you get the message :P

That said....

I figured during today's #RECIPEFRIDAY link up that...

I would share with you some of my oldies but goodies....

Not because I'm getting old younger but, because...

You know...

Time lapses and sometimes...

We forget (not because we are getting older wiser) what was once shared and perhaps really enjoyed! (Honestly, I have no issue with age, I'm just having a little FUn hehe)

So...

Let's get to it shall we? (Click on the recipe link)

Time Spent...

Time.

Time can pass us by and other times...

Move ever so slowly, as we are waiting.

Waiting for days to end. Weekends to come. Results to show. Events to happen and really...

Waiting to go on about our business.

Whether we want time to move faster or slower...

No matter the preference...

Time continuously ticks away.

It doesn't stop. Ever.
Although sometimes it feels like it does! ;P

That said...

Time is something that I've been very mindFUl of lately.

MindFUl in ways that include...

Time spent on me and those around me.

Time spent disconnecting, in order to connect myself more with my surroundings.

Time spent savouring the moments before me, without a need to rush through them.

Time spent embracing the slowness that sometimes is required for things to take place.

If anything...

I've been spending a lot of time on those things that make me feel whole, and complete and...

As a result...

I've been learning and appreciating what this time spent has had to offer me and my environment.

Which is a lot.

I mean...

Time is what allows us to move forward...

Moving fast here.

And, FUrthermore...

It's in the time we spend right here, right now, that truly allows us to grow.

Grow in all aspects of our life. (Which comes in time!)

Of course...

Some areas may grow faster than others but...

If we are patient (with ourselves and with those around us) it is then that we can...

Bloom.

Bloom into what we ought to become.

Inside and out.
So...

In the time we have to spend on ourselves (and on others)...

Make the most of it.

It'll be worth every figurative dime spent.

Question FU You...

Are you mindFUl of what you spend your time on?
How you like to spend your time?
How much time do you spend on yourself?

#RECIPEFRIDAY: Savour The Goodness...

Happy #RECIPEFRIDAY everyone :)

I hope you all had a wonderFUl week...

Enjoying and savouring some of the Fall weather we've been getting lately! (It's a beautiFUl season, as much as we'd like the warm temperatures to stick around!)

If anything...

I've been really loving my time on the bike with SuperFit.

I really have been!

I mean...

I'm getting stronger and...

I've been feeling great on the bike!

No doubt...

It's been taking my mind off the fact that I can't run...

For a looooong while.

My running shoes be resting.
For another 4 months, for sure.

Now...

Seeing that today is #RECIPEFRIDAY...

I've been loafing around a ton lately.
Loving it...
Of course :)

I wanted to share with you some tasty recipes that have been shared over here over the past couple of weeks!

Stop Rushing and Slow Down...

Is it just me or...

Has the first week of September already come and gone?

If anything...

It seems like the busyness of the Fall season is in FUll swing again as...

Summer slowly quickly comes down to a close.

He has no idea how much cooler it's going to get soon ;)

That said...

I am doing my best to ensure I take my time doing all things I do so that...

I can be sure not to rush the process...

And truly...

Enjoy and appreciate what those extra seconds, minutes, hours etc. can give me, and my overall being! (Sanity lol)

Each step counts.
No 'knead' to rush.

No doubt...

The more we rush....

The more blurry things become and...

As a result...

We potentially miss out on those little things that would otherwise make the experience whole, and complete.

Getting a good rise from taking my time..
Making a good hearty, sourdough loaf.

In other words...

Rushing may take us away from being FUlly present because...

Our minds are already on the next task, level, step, goal we want to get to.

We're found jumping from one thing to another and...

We're not giving ourselves any time to take a deep breath and...

Truly focus on what's in front of us.

The faster you go doesn't mean the quicker that door will open.

FUrthermore...

Rushing becomes exhausting to our well-being both...

In body and mind.

I mean...

When we're always on the go...

Never taking a moment to pause and breathe (even for just a few seconds!)...

We grow TIREd.

Literally ;)
hehe

This is why...

I've become very mindFUl about keeping myself going at a steady pace! (As difficult as it can be sometimes...especially when we feel like we're in the fast lane!)

Of course...

Life moves quickly at times and...

We just have to go with the flow...

But...

If we can simply be aware that perhaps there IS time to slow things down...

It's then that we can...

Give ourselves a little more wiggle room to grow! (By taking advantage of it!)

I mean...

It' s sure to benefit us in long run! (In more ways than one!)

What about you....

Are you in the fast lane right now?
Do you ever take the time to slow things down? Even for just a minute?
