Keep It Simple...

When it comes to healthy living...

It's really easy to 'over-complicate' things so to speak.

No doubt about it...

There's a lot of information out there (let alone methods) and...

Sometimes...

It can be a touch overwhelming when you're trying to decide how it is you are going to implement whatever changes you seek when it comes to your healthy living goals.

Whether it's following a specific 'diet' (how you FUel yourself), training program, trend  (I don't follow trends but I will try out new things as I go along) , whatever...

It can be a bit hard to know where to start and how to get started. (And whether or not you know if what you're doing is right/good for you.)

I mean...

I had no idea where to begin when I first started and...

I was a little intimidated by all the possibilities. (Which in essence is great, but I wanted direction so that I could find my way -->>thank you SuperFit!!!)

Showing me the way.
This is about 7 months in.

That being said...

When I was given my first road map which...

Was tailored to me and my goals (to get healthy and fit)...

I couldn't believe how 'simple' things could be if I didn't try to figure out ways to actually not change a thing in my old lifestyle when beginning (attempting) a new one...which IS in fact a lifestyle and not just a phase)...

I 'simply' stopped over-analyzing and over-complicating the process to achieve what it is I aspired for. (Embracing the changes and getting excited about them as opposed to trying to stay clear of them, knowing very well that wasn't how I was going to start feeling good in both body and mind.)

Easy. Nourishing. And worth exploring.
For me and my health.

Although, truth be told...

As simple as things could be...

I knew that this goal (as with any goal) would require...

Commitment, dedication, hard work, and a willingness to get things done without trying to get myself out of it by finding excuses, cutting corners or, working less hard when wanting 'the big results'. (You can't expect things to change if you're not willing to put in the work.  But you do what you can when you can without putting to much pressure on yourself!)

Now don't get me wrong...

Healthy living is not something that came naturally to me (and I am so grateFUl for the guidance and support I've received over the years)...

And...

Like I've said time and time again...

The lifestyle takes on-going practice. (Not all days are going to be easy but it will all be worth it when you start giving it chance and then, start reaping from the benefits.)

FUrthermore...

Know that not one diet, program or trend is going to work for you...

Because...

Healthy living requires you to learn the ways that make you feel at your best and...

What it is you want and need in order to keep yourself going. (Being healthy is not about restrictions. Although, if you're wanting to reach a specific goal, then you need to do what you need to do (in the most healthiFUl way) in order to reach it...so that froyo may have to wait if you know what I mean lol)

All in all...

When wanting to begin or continue on your healthy living journey...

Try keeping things simple because...

It shouldn't be about complicating the process but rather...

Enjoying it!

  6. Oh my gosh, YES. I overcomplicate EVERYTHING. And, as a result, I am less effective.

Simple, simple, simple. In a society that has become so unnecessarily complex.

  7. Yes! I think when we over complicate things, we end up procrastinating. You have to start small, like, "I'm going to try and drink one Coke a day instead of three" Then you see how good you feel and you can go to zero. Or it might be as simple as, "I'm going to walk one mile everyday" If you start with a marathon, it becomes daunting, miserable and you end up giving up.

  10. I have been known to be the queen of complicating the process! Realizing it I don't anymore :) What could have been the simplest of tasks were exhausting. No more my friend!

  11. Oh that's a great question. I've gone from no process to overcomplicating the process, right back to keeping it simple. Now I know - what's sustainable is what works.

    Hope you're doing great chica!
