Invest Time in Yourself....

As I was going through my blog post drafts...

I came across this title. (See above) ;)

No words were yet written in the body but...

At some point in time...

Something inspired me to get this post (thought) started...

And not forget it.

To be honest...

I don't know how much more I can say on this topic other than...

It's true.

We all need a little time to decompress right? :)

But...knowing me...I must elaborate.

I mean...

We all need to invest time in ourselves (because the rewards are endless) and...

No matter the reason for our investment, whether it be for purposes of...

Rest
Relaxation.
Renewal.
Refreshment of the mind and body...

And (or, including) for reasons to...

(Re)Focus (on our goal(s) etc...)
Spend more time on our well-being (habits, exercise, eating/FUelling) and (not limited to)...
For reasons to simply enjoy ourselves and our surroundings, wholly and presently...

We all require some time that is set aside to serve ourselves. (For the sake of our own physical and mental wellness.)

No doubt...

If we're always on the go...

Never taking a moment(s) to...

Slow down...
Pause (let alone stop)...
Breathe and...
Savour what is in and around us...

How can we not get lost in the shuffle of all things that be? (If you never take time for yourself, how are you expected to grow and learn as you go along in your journey through life?)

Take a minute to slow down and enjoy what you have in front of you :)

As for me...

I invest and spend time on myself by doing things I love. (And that make me feel like what I'm doing (or not) is doing me good in more ways than one.)

Be it by way of...

  • Exercising (lifting, running, cycling etc...)
  • Reading
  • Baking
My zen.

  • Listening to music
  • Writing (not just on the blog) and/or (not limited to)...
  • Doing absolutely NOTHING (which I do really enjoy! Seriously lol)...

This allows me to...

Reconnect with myself in a way that...

(Re)Energizes my being so that I can feel at my best from the inside out. (Consistently, and not just periodically.)

And...

If I feel at my best then...

There's no questioning that this will also radiate from me, as a person. (And I can let that light shine through...ya know?)

With that being said...

As I continue to learn more about the importance of time spent on oneself and all the good that will come of it...

My hope is that...

You too (will, can) are able to reap from the benefits it has to bring into your life :)

So, what are you waiting for?

Take a moment and invest some time into yourself because...

The return is worth every second spent!

Question FU You...

Do you make a point to invest time in yourself regularly? In what ways?

  1. I invest time in myself through my paintings, I find I can get lost in one painting for hours and come away feeling so at peace with in myself, I can literally loose hours doing nothing but letting the paint flow across a canvas, its my way of stopping to smell the roses, except mine is paint. I have been having trouble painting clouds, so lately I find myself walking and studying all the many forms, I will master them one day, love your blog,, Sandy

  2. Oh yesssss!
Running is for me. I run because I like it. It's my alone time. My regroup time. It makes me a better human.

  5. Yes! I love this. It's SO important. I try to remember to do little things for myself, read, or something I enjoy for a little while in the evenings. I always get my 'me' time in the morning when I work out.

  8. I'm thankful to have read both yours and Carla's posts first thing this morning! As my three children are now off school for the summer, it's going to be super important for me to set time aside for myself to recharge and re-energize! My favourite ways (other than exercise)? Reading and knitting while hanging out in the garden. I'm thinking I should learn to bake bread too (my youngest just looked over my shoulder at your pic and said 'mmm, that looks good')

  9. Yes! Everyone needs time to recharge, as you say. It's easy to get caught up in all the stuff you have to do for everyone else, you need to do things for you, too!

  10. You have to prioritize yourself. It reaps so many rewards for everyone!

  11. YES! Although investing in myself was something that took me a lot of time to learn how to do.

It's easy to be held accountable when other people are relying on you. But, I often forget that I am relying on myself too!

  14. For quite some time after my kids were born, I forgot to take care of myself. Yes, I worked out and ate right but I never took time to get pedicures, haircuts (at least more than once a year) or massages. I forgot that I need to be pampered too!
