2013 in Review: Savouring What Is Left!

As I sit here reflecting upon this past year...

I can't help but be overwhelmed with grateFUlness for those very things that I have been able to live and experience.

My very first FitFluential Meet-Up!
Running a 5k in a banana suit.
Becoming a Daydreams Fitness Wear Sponsored Athlete.
Becoming a Zevia CSP.
Practising patience as I prepared myself for the OPA Ontario Championships
Being grateFUl for the experience to compete at the...
OPA Ottawa Classics with SuperFit!
Running the Spartan Super with friends!
Powering through my very last prep of the year and...
Competing at the IDFA Ottawa/Gatineau Classic.
Learning the importance of disconnecting and restoring balance.
Learning to step back and be more present.
Riding 100km on my bike.
Having FUn at the Colour Run with the Fam!
Hiking up Mount Marcy.
Running 29 birthday kilometresafter losing my running mojo for over 6 months.
Refreshing my look ;)
Learning to slow down and savour life.
Learning the importance of rest.
Tackling some home projects.
Learning how to loaf around the house!

If anything...

The past 365 days have been filled with many things that have led to my growth as a person and...

I am forever grateFUl and appreciative for everything that I have come to learn throughout it.

As we make our way into the New Year (and as I get ready for a little getaway with SuperFit)...

My goal, in this very moment, is to...

Savour every little bit that is left of 2013.

As I return here in 2014....

I look forward to all the things we will experience together near and far! (Wherever you are!)

As I simply wanted to check in with you today, in telling you that my holidays have been FUbulous...

I also wanted to say...

Thank you all so much for making 2013 what it was! (I am so so grateFUl!)

Happy New Year my friends! (May it be filled with health, happiness and lots of love!)

One last FUnny face before I go ;)

Questions FU You...

What are some of your highlights for 2013?
Plans for New Years Eve?

**Reminder: I will be slowing down with my blogging over the holidays, but will remain moderately active on twitterinstagram and facebook. I'm going to take this time to re-charge, in both body and mind, and will do what I can, when I can ;)**

Unwrapping The Holiday FUn and #RECIPEFRIDAY....

Well...

I hope everyone has had or has been having a FUntastic holiday season thus far!

As for me...

I've been loving, savouring, and enjoying every single moment that I've been able to spend with my family and friends.

Each moment that I've had with those I cherish most has been...

One of the greatest gifts that I've been able to unwrap (Suzanne, the unwrapping is endless hehe) so...

Without a doubt...

I've been having a very heart warming and love filled holiday!

If anything....

I am so truly grateFUl for everything I've been able to FUel myself with over the past few days...

My homemade bread :)
Breakfast.
Dinner Appetizers.
Steak Masters and bite sized goodness.

And...

I'm not taking anything that I have for granted because I know...

How truly blessed I am.

No Christmas goes with our Ferrero Rocher!

**

Now...

In speaking about food...

I don't have any recipe to share today as I've only been making bread lol

My first attempt at Cinnamon Raisin Bread.

That said...

I would love to see what you've been making or enjoying over the holiday season!

So...

If you've been savouring the moments and/or some delicious foods...

Show me!

I can't wait to see all of the holiday goodness!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Questions FU You...

What kind of holiday FUn have you been unwrapping?
Favourite parts of the holiday so far?

Savour The Holidays!

And so it was the day before Christmas eve...

As the holiday festivities have officially begun...

I am very much  looking forward to the time I will get to spend with my family and friends.

Also...

I am really looking forward to relaxing and savouring the...

  • Moments;
  • Traditions;
  • Stories shared; and...
  • All the love I will be surrounded by throughout it all.
So excited that we got Noel Sapin III up and shining :)

As I will be following my own advice on...

Ensuring that I have healthy, happy holidays...

The least of my worries will be stressing about routines and schedules.

Having said that...

I will be also be following the principles of #WYCWYC! (What you can when you can!)

As I am planning on a few extra rest days with SuperFit (to re-charge)...

I will do what I can when I can without feeling any regret if I can't and don't get it all done.

If anything...

I know that once all of the holiday parties and gatherings whine down...

My 'regular programming' will fall back into place. (In all aspects of life.)

So...

As I continue on with my seasonal preparations for what is to come within the next couple of weeks...

My only plan is to continue to slow myself down and savour all of the things that are to come my way, and...

I hope you will too!

Until next time...

Have a very Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season!

I wish you nothing but love and happiness!

Teddy hugs for all ;)

Question FU You...

What are you looking forward to this holiday season?

Feeling FUll and #RECIPEFRIDAY...

If there's something I've been vastly enjoying over the past two weeks...

It's been bread making...

One of the many loaves I've been popping out of my oven ;)
And...

Soup making too!

This simple broth with Bok Choy has brought warmth to my very core...
Especially on a cool winter's day.

Until recently...

I wasn't one to make either.

So let's just say...

The past little while has been a time for me to try new things and...

I must admit...

This added time in the kitchen has brought so much FUllness into my life (and not just literally hehe)...

In other words...

I've been feeling a lot of...

FUllness in heart;
FUllness in mind; and...
FUllness in body.

FUelling in more ways than one.

Without realizing it (not until SuperFit pointed it out)...

I spent over 5 hours cooking and baking on Sunday.

And to be honest...

It didn't faze me at all because I was truly...

  • In the moment;
  • Slowed down;
  • In my groove; all while...
  • Savouring each moment spent creating in the comfort of my own home.

If anything...

I guess I really kneaded needed that time because...

I am really feeling FUll. (And it feels good!)

Happy and FUll.

So...

In speaking about FUllness...

Please enjoy this filling potage I came to make on Sunday evening. (I'm on a Sunday night potage kick as you may have realized after last week's #RECIPEFRIDAY!)
