OPA Ontario Championships: Let's Do This!

Hey everyone and...

Happy (is it already) Friday to you!

I simply wanted to check in quickly (before I go) to say a few last words before I compete tomorrow!

Why yes...
Our Bulk Barn date went very well yesterday!

Without getting overly emotional and teary eyed…

I just want to say how incredible this journey to the stage has been!

From the great days to the good days to the harder days to the emotional ones at times…

Each and every day has counted towards the making of this amazing quest I am living!

Honestly…

This prep has really allowed me to gain strength both inside and outside of myself in ways that continue to surprise me with each moment that passes by!

Thank you StrongerRx for the #STRONG gift!

Through the lessons learned and the self-growth (I guess you can take the literal meaning of that too lol)…

Not for one second am I not grateful for what this experience has brought into my life!

I mean...

Competing has really challenged me in ways I never thought imaginable (time and time again) and, as a result…

It has opened my eyes to what we can accomplish if we just trust and have patience in ourselves! (And the process!)

It sure does!

I mean…

We all have it in us to achieve anything we want if we just put our minds to it! (We have the strength so, it's up to us to discover it!)

Get after what you want!

Now...

I don’t think you’ll be surprised when I tell you that…

I’m looking forward to the competition tomorrow! (Holy FUreakin' moly am I ever! Yeaaaaaaaaah!)

That being said...

I’m also looking forward to being surrounded by my incredible Teammates, my family and friends, as well as...

By those who have dedicated and given all of themselves to their prep to the stage too!

Competition day (for me at least) will be a day of accomplishments, FUn, and….

It will be a day to shine my brightest so, without a doubt…

I can’t wait for that moment to come! (Ummmm in just one more sleep!!!)

It’s kind of surreal to think that after 4 months of preparing for the Provincials…

The day is just mere hours away!

Yeeeeeeeeehawwwwwwwwwww!

After much reflection about my journey up until this moment in time…

I can’t help but smile at what it is I’ve been able take from this prep! (Lessons learned, personal growth, my strength (both mental and physical),self-awareness, trust in myself and the process, patience, self-love, confidence in my overall-being and so much more!)

:) 

Like I said earlier...

Each and every day has amounted to this very moment in time and...

Not for one second do I not appreciate what I 've been able to learn from this journey!

No words could ever tell you how much I love and appreciate you and...

2 Sleeps Away: Getting Stuff Done!

Hey everyone and…

Happy Thursday to you! (I'm off until Monday! Wahhhhhhhooo!)

Just to keep you up to date with how I’m doing in the last 2 sleeps I have left until I compete at the OPA Ontario Championships

I thought I would let you know what I’ve been up to as I get ready for the big day!


Since yesterday was officially my last workout of the week…

Today will be spent resting and finalizing (doing) all the things I have left to check off my list before we head off to Toronto!

Seeing that I started packing my two suitcases (competition and regular suitcase) over the weekend (and have been filling them up throughout the week)

I don’t have too much to add to them!

I can tell you that the last thing that will get packed up will be my competition heels as…

My Teammates (Sue and Marie-Pierre) and I are having our last posing practice session at the gym (Florida Fitness Aylmer) before we all see each other again in a new city! (Aaaaaaaaaahhh! So exciting!)

Seriously…

I can’t wait for the road trip ahead with my good friends 007 and Martin…


And...

To see my family and friends who will be at the show!

**I remember a time when I went on road trips with 007, Martin and SuperFit to support her in her journey to the stage! It’s so surreal to think that they are now coming to support me! I mean, when I was going I never imagined myself to be competing so, the feeling I am experiencing right now is out of this world!**

Did I mention…

007 will be doing my hair and helping me with my makeup? (She is amazing!)

I found a hairstyle I liked so…

I went over to her place the other night and we did a test run of my competition day hair! (And I LOVED it! Merci G!)

Looks good eh?! ;)

As for the rest of the day today…

I’m going to see Joan, my Daydreams Fitness Wear Sponsor for one last visit before I go (she takes such good care of me and I’m so grateFUl!) and…


I have a date with Marie-Pierre to fill up our loot bags at Bulk Barn! (And perhaps other places too, who knows! lol)

I’m also going to be preparing some food for the ride to Toronto (we have a full kitchen in our room so I don’t have to make everything for the weekend)

And…

I’m going to take it EASY! (I swear, there is some time in there to fit in some relaxation and REST!)

3 Sleeps Away: Pumped UP!

Hey everyone and…

Happy What I Ate Wednesday to you!

I hope all is well and dandy for you on this hump day!

Humpadee Hump Hump!

Since it's Wednesday and all...

That means I get to share with you some of my eats thanks to Jenn's WIAW link up!


In light of this food inspired day...

I decided on doing something slightly differently so that...

I could give you a small peek into what I've been having as I prepare for the OPA Ontario Championships (that is taking place in 3 sleeps from now!!!) but also…

What I plan on bringing with me for post competition eating! (Which I shared a bit of yesterday as well!)

As mentioned earlier…

This is peak week for me so…

My diet rotation has changed for the final dial-in and…

So has my training schedule!

My last workout before the show is today!
(Before the show not forever friends! lol)

I must admit…

The butterflies in my stomach continue to grow as the big day approaches...


And…

The excitement of the entire weekend coming up has me pumping out of bed (early) ready to charge forward and get after my goal!

Yeeeeeeee!

I mean…

I’m so pumped that even these protein packed eats get me super excited! (It's all part of the prep which is exciting to me!)

Chicken!
Haddock.
Plain and simple.
Really good no less :)
Oatmeal Protein Bites (you know I will always love these!)
Half of these stuck to my pan the other day.
I had to buy a new non-stick baking pan.

**I have to tell you that the fish I cooked the other night was disgusting…Worst meal of my entire prep! I could barely finish my plate because it tasted so bad lol Trust me, I won’t be making frozen Sole any more! lol**

And…

As for my post competition eats…

I will be packing up some of the following!  (I have a Bulk Barn date scheduled with my Teammate Marie-Pierre which, I can't wait for! I’m sure I’ll be adding a couple of more things to my loot after our afternoon together!)

Nothing like a little pop to add to the goods!

I have to be honest…

I’m not really sure what I want or what my body craves (aside from the obvious... MY GOAL!!!) which is why…

I'm bringing a mixture of things! (I love packing goodies, I’m like a child. I almost think I have more FUn buying and packing it up than actually eating it lol Aside from the Healthy Bites of course, I’m looking to having Lindsay’s balls oh and, my Mom's homemade Rice Krispie Squares! Mmmmmmm Mmmm! I'm picking those up tonight! hehe!)

Now of course…

While I’m prepping for my competition and preparing my own food…

I have been cooking separate meals for SuperFit too! (Trust me, he had a bite of my fish and I’m pretty sure he wanted to spit it out lol)

He's been drinking my secret stash of Zevia that I just got! lol

That being said…

I’ve been cooking for him without tasting any of it and so far…

It’s been good! (FUew LOL)

So...

Here's the latest concoction I created the other day after he made a special request for meatballs!

Let’s just say…

I took his meatballs and made them into mean and clean mini meatloaves!


Mean & Clean Mini Meatloaf!

by *CaNdY FiT*
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients (6 mini loaves)

  • 1 1/2 lbs of Extra Lean Ground Turkey (Chicken, Veal or Beef)
  • 1/2 cup liquid Egg Whites
  • 3/4 Onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Montreal Steak Spice
  • 1 tbsp dried Oregano
  • 1 tbsp dried (ground) Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp dried Chilli Flakes
  • 1/2 tsp ground Cumin
  • 1 tsp dried Parsley Flakes
  • Pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Pre-heat your oven to Bake at 400F
  2. Add the ingredients in a bowl and mix together (add the Egg Whites last)
  3. Spray a mini loaf pan with EVOO Olive Oil
  4. Spoon in the ground meat into each hole (should fill about 6)
  5. Bake for about 20 minutes then broil the loaves for the last 10 minutes (to get a nice brown crust)
note
  • You may have to remove the pan from the oven after 20 minutes to scrape off the excess fat. Return to oven then broil.

4 Sleeps Away: Reppin' It Out!

Hey friends!

My oh FUreakin' my have the past few days flown by! (I totally meant for that rhyme to happen!)

As I'm getting closer and closer to my competition...

Everything that's been happening in and around me just seems so surreal! (I mean, am I really only 4 more sleeps away from competing?!!!)

Yes. Yes I am!

Yeeeeehooo!

I mean...

I'm in final the stretch of my prep to the OPA Ontario Championships so, in other words...

I'm almost there!

Yep!
It's true!

Like...

  • I have two more workouts left until the show (so I'm repping it out big time!);
  • I've entered into my last phase of my diet before we start officially dialing-in the 'final package' (each and every phase of pre-contest preparations is different for everyone so, there is not one 'recipe' that works universally. As for my final, final, dial-in, Coach SuperFit will call it as he sees it! He rocks my world!); and...
  • I have just a few more days left to practice in my heels! (I've seriously been working really hard at my posing and getting ultra comfortable walking, running and dancing in them lol kidding. But seriously, I've been practising non-stop to ensure I don't fall flat on my face, personalizing my every move and having FUn all at the same time.)

Did I mention...

I received a few goodies from friends and family to take with me to Toronto?

I sure did!

A bag of goodies from my Iron Sista!
Peanut Butter M&Ms, Nibs and Gummy Bears (I love GBs)!
And...
Macaroons alllll the way from Paris from my Mom and Timbits!
Maison Georges Larnicol

Honestly...

I have no idea what the first treat I will pop into my mouth will be but...

I have a feeling it might be these!

Lindsay Cotter's Custom Flavoured Healthy Bites!

Oh and...

I'll also be popping open a can of Zevia to celebrate the occasion! (Seeing that I don't drink alcohol, this form of bubbly will be perrrrfect for this FU! It will be my first try so, I'm excited to test it out! Should I mention SuperFit has been drinking my stash! lol)

The Cream Soda is what I will be bringing with me!

Hey everyone and...

I swear...
My nespresso in the morning is the best.

Today...

Honestly...

As I'm now 8 sleeps away from competing at the OPA Ontario Championships...
