Embrace Change...

Because change is here forever.

These are words I came to hear in a presentation a few weeks back which...

Rang truth within my ears. And continue to do so to this day.

Often times...

We fear change.

Change from those habits, places, people, (and not limited to) the jobs we have come to know so well over the years.

Take my blonde hair for example.
I feared going back to brown.
Even though it IS my natural colour.

Without a doubt...

Change can be scary.

**

From the moment I heard those very words "embrace change, because change is here forever"...

I looked within my own life to see in what way, shape and form I have changed, let alone...

Embraced the changes I have come to experience to this day.

I asked myself many questions.

Was I scared of change, ever? Did I facilitate the change, or resist it? Did I have to let go of something and grab on, or stay put and hold on tighter? Was it change I yearned for, or was it change I needed?

Needless to say, there were so many areas I came to look into, visit and revisit in my questioning. And in the process of my inquiry, I was, in fact, changing.

**

When it comes to healthy living...

Change is what led me to where I am today.

It was a choice that I had to make for the betterment of me.

A change I would have to embrace (and give a chance) in order to make my goals a reality.

Never did I think I'd ever have any muscle.
Let alone...
Care enough to have any, for my growing health.

Of course...

My transition into the lifestyle I am living today wasn't (isn't) all smooth sailing (much like in life) and...

I had to adapt and change my ways in order to see the changes (inside and outside of myself) that I was seeking but...

Committing myself to my health and my overall well-being was one of the best decisions I had ever made! (And not a second goes by do I regret changing my life around! I mean, healthy living is something I will continue to practice day to day, every day.)

Totally. Totally worth it :)

All to say...

Embracing change can be a difficult thing....

Especially if it is met with resistance.

But what I have learned though, throughout the years in my journey is that...

No matter how scary, or hard the changes in your life might be...

Embracing it can change it all which can...

Make the process that much easier. (And fruitFUl!)

I mean...

Why resist change when change is upon us? (Because change, in the end, results in growth.)

Much like the changing of the seasons.
Although we may not be ready (or be dreading) the cold winter season...
It is upon us, waiting to settle in.

I guess what I'm trying to say (which serves as a daily reminder for me too) is...

Don't fear change in your life (as scary as it might be at times) ...

And...

Don't fear working towards those things you want because...

You're the only one who can make the changes you want happen! (You're in control)

So...

Embrace it. (And make the most of all of it!)

Questions FU You...

  1. Do you embrace change?
  2. How do you deal with change? Is it a positive thing?
  3. What is something  you have changed, or that has changed in your life that you have embraced? Was it an exciting change, difficult, what?

  12. It's so funny because in certain areas I am always up for change and ready to embrace it in others I think there is such comfort in things staying the same :)

  13. These days I've been embracing change wherever I can! I've come to learn that if I'm unhappy in my life it's because I'm stuck in a rut. When I seek out change and accept it happening it allows me to grow and become the person I want to be!

  17. Depending on the change I always try and embrace it. I work in a job which is constantly changing so I think it has made me quick open and adaptable to change but sometimes I don’t always want change in my personal life so do resist it.

What an inspiring and honest post about change, love this one.

    P.S. I love your brown hair ;)

  18. I love your inspiring posts. This is (as with your other ones) such an important topic!

Change is something which is inevitable, yet being able to adapt to it is so important- but something really tricky to do. I aim to 'try' and embrace change but sometimes it can be quite anxiety provoking!

    1. In speaking about being flexible, generally speaking...

Flexibility can be so difficult sometimes. Especially when we fill like we've already been stretched so thin. There are many times where I've resisted change. That I just liked how things were, without wanting to flex any more. But what I've been learning is that, I need to embrace change, no matter what...because change is inevitable.

Next thing you know, I'll be Gumby by 90 ;) hehe
