Taking A Step Back and #RECIPEFRIDAY...

Hello my friends...

I hope you are well on this Friday morning :)

Hi :)

As you may (or may not) have realized...

I've been pretty quiet lately.

If anything...

This quietness has been a result of my need to step back a little and...

Focus on myself a little lot more. (A need to FUel and realign my inner-being with more time, for me.)

And to be quite honest...

I think being away for the first half of the week in Niagara Falls (for work) was....

A great beginning to my goal of bringing my attention to the now. (No matter how busy my schedule, I was going absorb life as it would unfold itself. All of it. Even with the migraine I suffered on Monday.)

BeautiFUl isn't it.

In other words....

My intention to...

Live in the present in addition to...

Giving myself the time to soak all of it in has enabled me to...

Learn from the many lessons that this personal exercise ended up teaching me. (Which I will share soon. I simply want to process them all first. Make sense?)

Savouring. Life.
I found myself sitting  here for long periods of time.
Enjoying. Presently. PeaceFUlly.

Even if I wasn't FUlly disconnected...

Whatever portions of my life that were...

It did me good on so many levels.

Having said that...

It made me realize that sometimes, or perhaps often times, we have a tendency to push our own needs aside until we 'make the time' to put our attention towards them. (And, this applies to all aspects of life, which isn't a 'good' thing.)

If anything...

After catching myself in my own traps I am learning more and more that...

I need to give myself more time to just be. (Consistently. Consistency being the key word.)

And that by being (right here, right now)...

I will be in a better position to honour myself in body, mind, and spirit.

So, I think it goes without saying...

It's only fair that I give myself this gift. :)

(Oprah and Deepak Chopra's meditation experience has come to me at the perfect time, especially after having enjoyed my last experience with them. If meditation is something you've been wanting to try out, it's not too late to sign up, for free.)

***

As I haven't been at home much....

I am solely relying on you today to fill me in on what you've been making and loving in this edition of...

#RECIPEFRIDAY!

Once I get back into my home routine...

I will make a point to get back into the swing of things in the kitchen too!

I can't wait to see what you've cooked up!

Have a great weekend everyone!

There's nothing quite like waking up to this face ;)
Oh and SuperFit's of course hehe

Questions FU You....

How much time do you give yourself a day to just be? (Separate from exercising)
How often do you disconnect partially or FUlly?
Plans for the weekend?

Stay Tuned FU More On *CaNdY FiT*

  4. Ah, so inspiring. I had a business trip this week and instead of trying to squeeze in a few hours of work at the hotel the evening I checked in, I chose to relax in the lobby lounge in front of the fireplace. ;-)

  5. Well said!! As a working mom I feel like the last person to get my time is me (aside from exercise). I know I need these moments of nourishing when I feel like the walls are closing in on me. Sometimes I'm better at recognizing this need than others. I usually head to the beach and just breathe it all in. Your pictures are gorgeous as is your new bloggy look! This was a great post...like a clean breath of fresh air!

    1. Thanks :) I thought it needed a little update ;)

It is refreshing. Sometimes I catch myself being too absorbed by it so that's when I know I need time to step back. Social Media requires balance as well. lol

  17. I totally understand where you're coming from. It's so hard for me to disconnect and just take some "me" time. I don't know where the blogging work stops and the fun starts!

When I REALLY disconnect though, I'll take a bubble bath and read a completely un-health/fitness related book. It feels very luxurious!

I wish I could take breaks away from the "wonderful" world of social media and the Internet, but I cannot for some reason!!! UGH! I am getting ready for the holidays but I still see myself attached at the hip to technology! BAHH!

  19. Oh wow Niagara Falls! I would love to visit there, even if it was just for work.

I just finished reading Eckheart Tolle's The Power of Now (highly reccomenc, especially if you like the Oprah Deepak meditation and have been focusing much more on living in the present and focusing on the moments that are happening as they come.

  22. Such a great post and so timely too! I took this weekend so far to not focus as much time and energy on blogging and instead focussing more on just doing stuff and being in the moment and enjoying that instead and it was great so good to hear you are doing the same. I will have to check out that meditation.

What a cute picture of Teddy :)

  23. Love the new blog look, very you! I am really looking forward to taking some time soon to just..."be"....Hopefully sometime in the next few weeks. I try and take at least 10-15 minutes a day to just unwind and relax alone, sometimes more if I can!
