Hold Yourself Accountable...

Because there is no one else more responsible for your own doings other than yourself.

As I am getting back into the healthy living groove while on the road (which isn't the most obvious thing to do)...

I am realizing more and more that...

I am responsible for my own health and well-being.

This treadmill and I have gotten to know each other very well this week.

In other words...

I am responsible for ensuring that I take the steps necessary to...

Take care of myself and...

Do what it takes to be the healthiest version of me one day at a time.

Even if I knew the significance of personal accountability the moment I started on my journey towards health and fitness...

The past few days have made me see (more and more) that...

Accountability isn't meant to last only until you've reached your goal(s) but...

It's meant to be practised at all times. (In all areas of your life.)

As much as having the support to...

Uplift you as you go along in your very own journey through life (I couldn't be more grateFUl for all the support, encouragement and motivation I've received in my entire lifetime)...

We still have to remember (in speaking specifically about health and fitness) that...

Healthy living is a lifestyle and...

It's a choice and commitment we have to make with our very own self.

We have to do what it takes to be our healthiest self. No one else can do it for you.

To add...

No one is more accountable for what you do other than you so that's why...

You (we all) have to take control of the decisions we make to ensure...

We get to where we want to go and...

Feel how we want to feel both inside and out.

I made the decision to get up extra early so that I could start my day fresh.
Knowing that by the end of the day, while on the road...
I am just exhausted and less likely to want to workout.

All to say...

Hold your own self accountable because...

The greatest level of accountability lies within you!

Starting this morning with a treadmill run and a biceps workout.

  2. Love this Kierston! This is a lesson I've unfortunately had to learn the hard way. But I'm glad I've learned it, and now it's time to treat my body with the respect it deserves!

  3. I need to share this with my clients. It's SO true. Healthy living isn't just a goal with an end. It's a way of life. You don't hit your target then just go back to your old ways and stay at your target. And it's not always easy, but you just do it.

  4. My willpower holds me accountable and I have to say, I was blessed with the most amazing willpower. I get up every morning to work out, no excuses AT ALL - even if I am struggling with a stomach flu or gastric ailments that pain me constantly. I must exercise and eat right because I know I will feel 8 times worse if I don't!

  5. Great post- I'm not the greatest with willpower and sometimes I give in. I do best when I share my goals or write them down. Letting someone else know my plan helps hold me more accountable.

  8. I love this post Kierston- Accountability, as you say, is something that should be maintained- not a quick fix or a set goal which is eradicated once achieved. With health and fitness, it means for me to change up my program ever few months to avoid boredom and try out new exercises to keep the body guessing!

  10. Such wise words as always! I find it so true that no one else is going to make you as accountable as you are anyway. Even if it is that you do go to the gym but don’t push as hard as you know you can, only you will truly know it when you don’t always give it your all.

Some mornings when I wake up the first thing I think is definitely not, ‘wow I’m so excited to workout’ but my accountability is not listening to that voice and just getting on with it.

  11. Healthy living is a way of life and we are accountable for ourselves. Generally, it's a way of life that I value but there are times when it's hard, particularly when I'm stressed and have to travel.
