I've been making a point to slow myself down in many areas of my life! (Mentally more than physically.)
After a mentally exhausting day on Friday... I went to the gym to pump myself back up again. |
Over the past week and a bit...
Life has felt like it's been going far too fast and...
It's felt as though I haven't been able to catch my breath in those moments where I've needed to the most! (I've never felt this as much as I have lately...)
That's why...
Breathing a little more! (Whether or not I've needed the breath, I've been taking it! lol)

And... Breathe. |
As I was supposed to go to the Grand Prix Cycliste in Montreal yesterday...
I didn't end up going because we didn't want to leave the puppies alone all day.

Poor puppies! ;) |
That being said...
Not going didn't really bother me because...
I wanted some time to slow down, rest and take it easy! (And, do a few things I'd been meaning to get around to on the home, personal and goals front!)
If anything...
That one day really gave me a chance to take things nice and slow and...
You better believe that I made a point to...
Savour every moment of it!
I went for a light jog. |
I gave my legs and feet a chance to slow down after... The 26kms I ran the day before. |
Nice and easy :) |
I cooked and baked. |
i did take things nice and easy this weekend.. kind of my mantra for life right now haha... i still got things done (farmer's market and county festival with my fam) and i didn't get other things done (cough cough laundry) but that's ok :)
ReplyDeleteDoing the laundry is no issue..putting it away, well that's another story. I always take my time when it comes to that task ;)
DeleteSounds like it was just the weekend you needed!! Looks like the puppies would have been very happy about it too :D
ReplyDeleteWell done on the 26km run that is amazing!
It really was...and I need more of them :)
DeleteYAY!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletethats all I have, Sister.
Im in slo' mo' too.
Fall = Pajama jammy jam time!
ReplyDeleteI know that feeling so well. Your body is telling you not to go and to slow down but you have all these big plans that you feel you should do. Over the years I've gotten better at saying no and accepting that my spare time may seem incredibly boring to others but is a perfect balance for me!
ReplyDeleteYes, yes and yes! It felt so good that I want more of it! :)
DeleteWe all need to slow down sometimes. Life just goes by way to fast sometimes!
ReplyDeleteohh... totally in love with your red kitchen!!! : )
Totally with you on this! My weekend was sooo quiet and slow - I feel so recharged today and loved it!
ReplyDeletePS. I want your kitchen!! So pretty!
I need more recharging which is why, this weekend I will do more of 'nothing' ;)
DeleteI had an awesome slow down day yesterday. Just what I needed!
ReplyDeleteRight there with you on this!!! Yesterday I took to SLOW it down. After a week of dealing with the flu we needed some healthy family time!! We took a few hours too to prep the week and today went off so much easier!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great way to spend a day. I really need one of those days. I did relax some over the weekend - enjoyed being outside.
ReplyDeleteI need days like those on occasion! Life is too busy and hectic sometimes.
ReplyDeleteGlad you took the time to rest and relax this weekend. Even though I had a paper to write, Saturday was a very lazy day for me. I was home alone, peace and quiet and got to relax and get my work done. Your pups are too cute!
ReplyDeleteI love a good, slow day filled with nothing in particular. Glad you had yours over the weekend!
ReplyDeleteToday is my slow down (basically grinding to a halt!) day - so far I'm loving every second of it!!!
ReplyDeleteYour dog is adorable and I love your neon shoes!
ReplyDeleteYou and your dogs are so cute Kierston! I'm loving this series of slow down your life blogs you've been posting. I'm definitely taking your tips and applying them!
ReplyDeleteOh those pups are so cute! I wouldn't want to leave them either. We had a slo-mo day on Saturday. The boys just wanted to stay in and play and that's what they did, literally for hours and it was exactly what their little bodies and souls needed.
ReplyDeleteYou are killin' your runs lady! Love seeing them on Instagram.. so motivating. I have definitely been trying to slow down and take "me days". This weekend was very relaxing and necessary.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had the chance to slow down and take time for yourself :) We all need that!

ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to slow down, but so worth it! We are getting more into the habit of rough plan, with no timeline. That helps a lot! :)
ReplyDeleteHow fun to have a day to do ANYTHING you want and have a cuddle with your puppers.
ReplyDeleteI had a slow weekend but not by choice. We are all getting over the sickies. I did manage to get a run done.
ReplyDeleteNice job K... love that you run and workout by feel. Sometimes you feel FU and sometimes you let the FU play with the puppies... both are a win.
ReplyDeleteThat watch looks friggin FU-tastic on you.
I love the watch. Thanks for the recommendation! :)
DeleteNow that I don't have any concrete goals in place...a lot of the things I do, like running and training is by feel. Lately, I've been feeling like running a lot. A great way to decompress...
You're doing such a great job of taking life as it comes. It's inspiring!
ReplyDeleteSo love this Kierston!! Love the pic of the dogs & the one with Teddy & his head on your leg! Life is short & love that you are spreading the word of slowing down!
ReplyDeleteI have learned to take some time every weekend to just sit & relax! :)
It seems when I consciously decide to take things slow, life speeds up even faster! We slowed down this weekend and it was great!
ReplyDeletei would have done the same. It's nice to have those weekends, it's needed! Life should be slow and savored
ReplyDeleteThey really are needed. This weekend I will be spending more time doing the same thing.
DeleteLove! and love those puppy faces.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteAh! Enjoy the slowness for me too! Just a couple more months and I'm right there with you.
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel. Sometimes things get so hectic that we never take the time to slow down and breathe :( glad u took the time to do that. I try and do that for myself more often as well :)
