Savouring Life...

Hey everyone and...

Happy What I Ate Wednesday to you!

Now if only I were back to where I was last week!

Seeing that I just got back from my amazing holidays...

I thought I'd share with you all the tastiness I came to enjoy while vacationing!

Can you get over the size of this rice krispies square?!

Without a doubt (and without hesitation)...

I savoured everything I came to live and eat (to the very FUllest) while exercising balance all at the same time! (Trust me, it's super easy to go overboard (not literally lol) when you have endless amounts of food available to you at all hours of the day!)

I talked about popcorn all week and there it was when I least expected it!
Senor Frogs in Cozumel, Mexico!
Ice Cream with the family at Ben & Jerry's.
Who knew you could find an ice cream shop on a cruise ship!
Mexican food at Pancho's Backyard in Cozumel.
Holy savoury!
Cupcake decorating class on the ship!
Freedom of the Seas, Royal Caribbean.
You know a boat calls for a FU when there's a cupcake shop on board!

If anything...

I practised what I learned (on many levels) over the past few years in my journey to health and fitness...

I trained everyday.
Not because I had to but because I wanted to :)
Early morning cardio and weights.
Nothing like having an entire gym to yourself at 630 am!

And...

I simply lived to enjoy all the things this trip had to offer! (And, not just on the food front of things!)

Snorkling in Cozumel, Mexico.
I did not do this activity!
I'm a big scaredy cat!
Stingray City (in the middle of the ocean ) in the Cayman Islands.
There were no barricades or nothing.
Just a whole bunch of Stingrays in the middle of the ocean!
Taking the #FUFACE everywhere I go!
Hollywood Studios, Disney World.
Splash Mountain, Magic Kingdom.
Space Mountain, Magic Kindgom.
Priceless.

Honestly...

It felt really great to be able to let loose without having any 'rules' to follow! (Seeing that I was in prep mode for a little over 6 months for my fitness competitions, it felt great to just go with the flow in all aspects of my regime, fitness and in life. In other words, I didn't have to plan out every single portion (perhaps literally too lol) of my day and eats. I'm not complaining about my prep, just stating fact for what it was!)

Enjoying some Jerk Chicken in Falmouth, Jamaica.
Loving the grilled Salmon on board.
Trying out fresh coconut water!
Picking out my very favourite *CaNdY* from It's Sugar in the Cayman Islands.

FUrthermore...

I felt a new sense of 'normalcy' (I mean that in a balance kind of way) while I on vacation! (After spending more than half the year living and breathing competition, that specific lifestyle became my every day normal. Honestly, getting back into the swing of life on a different level was refreshing for me and it did my body and mind lots of good!)

No planning.
Just living and enjoying the moment.

To add...

I just felt at ease with everything! (Switching my mindset to something new now that I've entered into the next phase of my journey...wherever that journey may lead me to!)

Labadee, Haiti.
Our first stop on our cruise.

All in all (and in keeping this post at a reasonable length! lol)...

I want to continue feeling good and treating my body and mind right!

That being said...

Knowing that I am keeping my health in check by...

Eating well, exercising, living a balanced lifestyle as well as...

Living life to the very FUllest this I know are things that will make me feel at my very best!

I don't think you'll be surprised when I tell you that...

I'm committed to this lifestyle I've created for myself so...

I don't plan on flushing any of that away by becoming mindless in my actions towards myself and my overall well-being! (I plan on expanding my knowledge in all areas of life!)

FUFACE and all ;)

Also (I swear, this is it lol)...

If there's one thing I came to see and feel more than ever before on this trip it's that...

There is so much more to savour in life that...

We really need to dive in and not be afraid to get a taste of it all!

I also realized that I need to spend more time with myself and with those around me! (Disconnecting was the best thing I could have done in more ways than one! I really got to savour each and every moment to the very FUllest!)

Now...

With all of that being said...

Here's a collage into some of things I (we) ate while on holidays!

Enjoy! (I bet you were wondering when I was going to get to the food eh?! lol)

Breakfast.
I pretty well ate the same thing everyday.
Egg white omelette (Royal Caribbean rocks with their omelette station!), toast, PB and a side of fruit.
I also had a bowl of yogurt, granola and fruit from time to time.
I took a whole whack of Quest Bars with me to snack on and share!
Lunch.
Typically involved a salad and protein.
Dinner.
I had amazing Jambalaya at Crossroads House of Blues in downtown Disney.
We also had some great Thai food at Thai Thani in Orlando.
Every single dinner on our cruise ship was incredible.
Most nights I opted for seafood (scallops, salmon, cod, crab)
I savoured every single bite.
Sweet nothings!
Of course I enjoyed me some sweets!
I'm not called *CaNdY FiT* for nothing ;) hehe
Best dessert on our cruise, the carrot cake!
See those huge drinks from Senor Frogs?
We should have shared our fruit smoothies as we didn't get much FUrther down than what you see there!

Have a great day friends! (I'm home sick with a really bad chest cold (I feel like poop!). At least I finally got over my 'landsickness'!)

Most awesome trip ever!
Thanks Jenn for this great link up!

  13. Yes to savouring life and I'm so happy you're fully enjoying post-competition 'normalcy'. Though I've never lived and eaten on a competition plan I can imagine the freedom that comes with just going with the flow afterwards.
Good thing you didn't go overboard literally - that'd have made for a not-so-awesome untimely end of the cruise ;).

  24. I hope you feel better!

I am so glad you got to have that relaxing time and just do, eat and relax as it sounds like it has done you a world of good. I need to disconnect more and take more breaks from technology. I always do when I'm on holidays but should make time for it not on holidays too.

  25. GREAT looking eats, but I think that rice crispies treat is a tad small...

Great job on balancing everything and enjoying it all, with all that variety! I think finding balance is one of life's (underestimated) hardest things and you seem to be succeeding at it! :)
