#RECIPEFRIDAY: Competing, Food and Tasty Recipes!

Hey everyone and…

Happy #RECIPEFRIDAY to you!

Did you see?!
I made it into this month's edition of Inside Fitness Magazine!!!!

I hope this week has been going well for you and that you're all excited that...

It's the FUreakin' weekend!

In case you didn't know...

I've been in on the road for the past few days! (I'm headed back home later today!)

If anything...

I've been taking it easy in the time I've to relax! (Which hasn't been a lot of time but I've tried to FIT it some in no less!)

I found a cute little local coffee shop.
They had great chairs and great tea.
Pretty sure I stayed there for 2 hours just being and enjoying.

**

As mentioned to you in my last post...

I hinted at potentially competing again!

Having said that...

I do see a competition coming up in the near FUture! (There are a number of competitions during the month of June/July so, I have options to pick from!)

So what does this mean?

It means....

I'm in pre-comp mode again! (As of this past Monday!)

Working out is my passion.
I love the feeling of empowerment I get from it so whether I'm competing or not...
You'll always find me doing what makes me feel #STRONG! :)

Now, because I'm back on my pre-comp program...

I made sure to pack me some food to bring with me because I'm on the road (which I would have done either way) and...

I made sure to special order my meals! (I would have done this too no matter if I was competing or not!)

And, just so you know...

Balance and moderation are things I plan to continue on applying into my lifestyle as...

There's no way I see post-competition as a free ticket to binge or become mindless in my eating habits in my day to day life!

This guacamole burger and order of sweet potato fries I had after my competition from Milestone's was the bomb!
I think my brother was jealous ;)

**Yes, I do/did enjoy some fabulous eats after my competition (which I will share soon) but, celebratory meals and random noms are not things that transcend into my daily maintenance program! I like structure, clean eating and being consistent with my 'diet',  what can I say! I mean, I've worked hard to achieve where I am so, it's up to me to find a balance that works for my overall self (and body) once I enter into the 'off-season'! I'm learning as I go along so, we'll see how exactly things shape up once I get to that point of getting back on the 'normal' track! Do note that my competition body is not what I maintain off-season. That body is only meant for the stage not for maintenance! What I plan on maintaining has yet to be determined! We shall see :)**

No doubt...

I'm definitely excited to be competing again (whenever that may be lol) and...

I look forward to the added experience to be had! (Each and every competition allows me to gain on stage (and personal) experience and, it allows me to grow stronger both mentally and physically in my competitive journey! I enjoy competing and I plan to make the most out of each and competition...never forgetting why I compete in the first place! There's always something to take away and I'm grateFUl for all the things I've been able to learn as a result of competing!)

**

Okay so…

Seeing that I'm still on my competition diet (and not cooking up anything new)...

Here are a few more recipes I've been inspired to make and try post-competition season!

Cilantro and Pumpkin Seed Pesto via I'm Fit Possible.
Brown Rice Protein Breakfast Bowl via Voodie Girl.
Inside Out Sushi Salad via Mommy Run Fast.
Guacamole Chicken Salad via Ari's Menu.
Spicy Sesame Salmon on Seared Watermelon via The Fit  Fork.
Carrot Cake Oat Cakes via Treats with a Twist!
(I love carrot cake. I think I would add a scoop of Vanilla Protein Powder to this one!)
mmmmm mmmmm!

So...

Now that I probably have you drooling...

Why not share with me a recipe you’ve been making, loving and drooling over?! (I can always get more napkins you know! hehe)

 Loading InLinkz ...
I can’t wait to see what you’ve cooked up!

Have an awesome weekend everyone!

Questions FU You…

Where do you find your recipe inspiration?
Have you ever trained for one event then quickly do another soon after? (I did, in my last competitive season lol)
Plans for the weekend?

  13. I do the same thing with racing--enjoy a celebratory meal and then move on to my normal eating habits. And, I've also done one event followed shortly thereafter with another. I think the first sets you up nicely for the second.

  18. How exciting that you're going to compete again so soon. I love following along..your attitude about training and life is very inspiring.

Yum, that pumpkin seed pesto sounds pretty good. I find my cooking motivation in various places. Sometimes I try to recreate my favorites from a dinner out, or even things I used to make before I was vegan, and "veganize" them.
