Part I: Roadtrip To The OPA Ontario Championships!

Hey everyone and…

Happy Tuesday to you!

That's me in my Daydreams Fitness Wear Bikini!

Okay so…

Before I begin with my recap from the OPA Ontario Championships from this past weekend…

I simply wanted to thank you all for the good luck wishes and…

For the thoughtful messages you sent me in my preparation to compete at my first Provincial level competition!

I must say…

The events that transpired over the weekend were filled with so much fun, inspiration, friendship and passion that…

Not for one second do I take for granted what this experience has brought into my life!

I am so, SO thankful for the strength I was able to gain from the competition and…

For the strengthened bonds and friendships that were made amongst my teammates, competitors alike, family, friends and of course…

My Coach!

I love me my SuperFit <3

No words could ever describe the level of gratitude I have towards everything I experienced which include…

All the things I was able to take away from this journey to the stage! (I was able to learn so much from those around me and about myself, as a person!)

**

The drive to Toronto...

As soon as I zipped up both of my suitcases and closed my cooler FUll of food…

It was time to pick up 007 and Martin who would be joining us on our road trip to Toronto! (Oh and of course, our mascot FUbie!)

The moment we got to their house…

They greeted me with a goody bag filled with some of my favorite treats as well as some additional goodness…

They wanted me to try out! (The OMG’s to be exact!)

In the first couple of hours on the road…

We talked, laughed, shared stories and simply enjoyed being in the presence of one another! (It had been a while since we’d hung out together so, it was FUn to catch up!)

After a few hours had passed…

We made a pit stop to eat and clear out! (If you know what I mean lol)

Of course…

I brought my own food to fuel with so…

I wasn’t left without anything to eat! (That would be some bad planning and preparation on my end if that had happened lol)

I'm having Turkey Oats.
Mmmm Mmmm ;)

Before getting back on the road…

SuperFit wanted to stop at a motorcycle shop on the way so…

We made a point to check it out! (It was in our plan so the timing was right!)

FUbie was excited.

After touring around the store (and SuperFit finding a few goodies to get)

We continued on with our trek to the hotel to join my Teammate Marie-Pierre and her friend Mel! (We’d all be staying in a room together – talk about F.U.N.! There was a FUll kitchen, two bedrooms, washrooms and a sofa bed. Lots of space!)

Sporting our FFA Swag!

As soon as we got to the hotel…

We settled in (quickly) and…

Headed over to the competition venue all suited up with our registration and membership cards in hand! (The venue was literally a 5 minute walk from our hotel so, it was super convenient!)

***

Registration and Toronto Pro Supershow Expo...

When we arrived…

The place was packed with competitors! (I could feel the excitement growing within me! I mean, my heart started pounding a little harder!)

When we eventually found the registration room….

It was there where we would get our bikini’s checked (they have to ensure the bikini’s fit within the legal guidelines – so cut and shape ) and…

Get our competitor numbers!

My number :)

Once checked and registered…

SuperFit's backstage pass!

We made our way to the Toronto Pro Supershow Expo to pass some time before the Athletes meeting!

Soon after we got there…

I was excited to bump into Number 10! (I’ve always called Véronique Morin #10 ever since I saw her on stage back in 2011! Her competitor number was 10 and boy did she rock that show!)

Number 10!
You may recognize her as she is on the cover of many Oxygen Magazines!

As we continued touring around…

I bumped into some familiar faces...

Miss Alex Cane.

As did 007!

BAM!

By the time we finished making our way around the expo...

Both Marie-Pierre and I would end up leaving with…

Quest Nutrition Bars! (I’d been wanting to try these out forever so, I was happy when I found some!)

We got 4 each!
We were beyond excited about them!

Since we still had time to spare…

We headed back to the hotel for an hour to chill, eat and relax!

Once 5:15pm came around…

We went back to the venue, connected with our other Teammate Sue

Sue rocks!
She and her boyfriend were staying at the host hotel :)

Where we then…

Headed into a room where all Bikini, Figure, Physique and Women’s Bodybuilding Athletes would meet!

During the hour long meeting…

We were filled with lots of valuable information about how the competition would roll out! (I found this meeting really good. I also found the tips and things that were shared to be great things to keep in mind as we got ready to step on stage the day following!)

The moment the meeting ended…

Marie-Pierre and I went back to the hotel to eat and vegg (the others went out to eat) before…

We would start the tanning application! (SuperFit would be doing my tan and Mel would be doing Marie-Pierre’s.)

***

The night and morning before the competition...

I must admit…

I was pretty tired by the time we were ready to get started with the tanning portion of our evening! (We put on 3 coats and started with the first coat at around 8:45pm)

In between 3 coats and drying off...

I got word that my Dad, The Masta, was coming to Toronto to watch my show!!! (It was an  incredible surprise!!!)

Honestly....

I was so happy!

As soon as I was dry to the touch…

I put on my head to toe PJs and made sure to put on new sheets (from home) on our bed so that…

I wouldn't stain the bed covers! (Standard practice (respectFUl) if you're going to stay in a hotel and sleep with a tanning product on! You don't want to stain the sheets!)

Now, you would think I’d not sleep the night before the show but…

I did! (Really well actually!)

I was dreaming about my awesome Bikini!

I slept so well that...

I jumped out of bed at 5:00am (my alarm never went off)

Woke up 007 and MP (in a slight panic) so that we could start getting ready asap!

007 would be doing our hair and makeup!

Once we put ourselves together...

It was time to get the show on the road and…

Compete!

I must say...

Both MP and I were...

Calm, focused and definitely excited to shine our brightest on a day that we had been talking about for a loooong time!
