No words could ever make this tragedy disappear or take away the pain that was (is) felt by so many from across the world...
Whether you were there in person or not.
As someone who just started running a couple of years ago (almost)...
I
crossed a total of 3 finish lines just last year, my last being my half-marathon back in
September 2012. (I have two more races coming up in the next couple of months.)
Each of those events brought tears to my eyes as I accomplished
a goal I never thought possible.
I mean...
Crossing those finish lines were some the
most incredible feelings I'd ever felt and...
Knowing I had support waiting
for me at the end of each one (in person, from a distance and virtually) made the experience even more
special.

At the finish line of my very first half-marathon. September 2012. |
Thinking back to my races and watching what happened yesterday...
I just can't put into words the hurt I feel for the thousands of runners, spectators, organizers and volunteers who were at the Boston Marathon (some of which I know).
My heart has just been aching for them.
April 15, 2013 was
meant to be a day of celebration and accomplishment and instead...
All of that
was ripped away and replaced with memories no one would ever wish for.
Not only
was the moment taken away but...
People were hurt and lives were also taken.
It's just not fair.
It's just not fair.
In what pains me to see and read regarding yesterday's
events...
My heart has also been lifted.
With the amount of love, strength, support and unity that has come together...
I'm truly speechless with all that I've been witnessing with respect to the large community of people that are and have come together (in person and virtually) to show...
Support and strength to those affected by Boston.
To honour those affected by the Boston Marathon and in
thanks to all the helpers...
I will #runforBoston...
And...
I will also be #strong4Boston!
