#WIAW: Powering Through My Prep!

Morning everyone...

I hope this Wednesday finds you healthy and well!

I dedicated my workout to Boston yesterday.
I gave it my all and then some.


I just can't wrap my head nor my heart around what happened but...

I am so amazed (and speechless) by the strength and unity of the community worldwide in showing and giving support to all those affected!

It's just amazing!


In keeping with Wednesday tradition...

Today I get to share with you some of my fitness competition eats as I prepare for the OPA Ontario Championships coming up in less than...

6.5 Weeks!

I must say...

My prep is flying by and...

As I get closer to June 1...

I'm getting more and more excited to get on stage! (I'm getting a touch nervous too but I think that's only normal!)


I'm meeting with Joan from Daydreams Fitness Wear to try on my competition bikinis! (I seriously can't wait to see what she's put together since our last meeting!)

I'll be sure to keep you posted on how my fitting goes! (We're meeting extra early so I'm bringing over the Starbucks coffee!)

That green and yellow suit was my 2012 bikini and figure suit :)

Alright so...

On with the food!

As I've been cycling through my prep with regards to my carb rotation...

Both SuperFit and I are happy with the progress my body is making! (No matter how long it has taken me to get to this point, I am on track and I will continue to power through my prep!)

If anything...

My body and mind are n'sync with one another and...

It feels really good! (Ever since I stopped weighing myself, I've been feeling much lighter all around! My mind is focused on the more important aspects of my journey to the stage rather than on the things that make me stress! To each their own and at the end of the day, I do what works for me with respect to making my experience special to me!)

What's also been good is...

The food I've been making and eating so...

Why I don't I give you a peak into what I've been FUelling up with eh?!

There's not a day I go without these!
Oatmeal Protein Bites :)
A must have.
I love every sip of my Nespresso up until the very last drop!
Oven Broiled Mrs. Dash crusted Salmon.
I also added some other spices to the mix :)
Oven broiled Broccoli.
I love crispy greens!
Just a simple bowl of Burnbrae Farms egg whites and spices.
And (but not limited to)...
Lots of Chicken of course!

As you can see...

Things are pretty plain and simple! (But, tasty nonetheless!)

That being said...

I absolutely don't mind it whatsoever! (I actually really enjoy what I eat!)

I mean...

I have no issue eating this...

Over that! (Right now, sweets, sugars and all the other things that are not included in my prep don't tempt me at all! What tempts me is my goal and what I need to do to reach it!)

The bottom plate is mine ;)


In keeping things 'ordinary'...

I shall share with you my recipe for my Cinnamon Egg White Bites again! (You might know them as Ultra Low Carb Protein Tops on the blog! I swear, I love these bites and they're totally worth a try! Well, at least I think so! lol) 

Cinnamon Egg White Bites

by *CaNdY FiT*
Prep Time: 2 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients (makes about 24 bites)
  • 8 Egg Whites
  • 1 T Ground Cinnamon
  • 2 T Ground Flax Seeds
  • Vanilla Stevia to top for added sweetness (optional)
Optional Ingredients
  1. Pre-heat your oven to bake at 400F
  2. In a bowl, combine your ingredients
  3. Mix well
  4. In a lightly sprayed EVOO Oil mini-muffin pan, spoon in your mixture into each empty space
  5. Place in the oven and bake for 20 minutes
  6. Remove from oven and enjoy!

  5. YOU LOOK AMAZING. I have been finding the scale very destructive myself lately. I felt like it helped keep me on track, but I have noticed that as I rebuild muscle the number on the scale is going up. And for whatever reason, even though I know deep down its a good thing, it still bothers me. I have decided to give it up for a while and focus on tracking my food and exercise. So focus on the positive right!?

    1. Absolutely! The scale does not define me nor my progress!

  6. I love your dedication my dear, seriously. It always makes my head spin a little thinking about carb rotating or any sort of dieting like this. I'm reading so much about it in my ISSA book though and know I've gotta wrap my head around it better!

Ive been trying to watch my carb intake also, minus this morning I had a piece of ezekial toast because it has so much fiber and keeps me fuller longer, bbuuuut, I want to try these egg whites bites. I am off tomorrow and plan on doing some baking. Do real egg whites work best? I find that when I bake using the actual egg white from an egg makes things fluffier, what do you think?

    1. You know, I've never tried just using the egg white from an actual egg. You'll have to let me know!

  9. I trained Chest and Triceps today (following the Jamie Eason LiveFit trainer...Week 3!) and this weekend I'm going to get ambitious and do some seriously creative food prep. I'm gettin gbored of the same old stuff I cook because its quick and easy. I'm going to sit down and plan out and have a field day! :D Thanks for your posts, your shoulders and arms are an inspiration for me in the gym!! :D

  10. You're so lucky you can have egg whites!!! I mis them... damn sodium cut. I'm actually loving my prep food right now too. Except for the patio margarita I couldn't have yesterday. ;)

    1. I may or may not have to cut them. We shall see come closer to my competition date! I didn't last time but...each prep changes so you never know! I sure hope not though lol. I LOVE MY EGG WHITES!

    All of my workouts this week have been for Boston, I've been overwhelmed with everything but I know the best thing to do is keep moving forward!

    I trained hard today and felt great - always feel more energized even after the workouts, and I remind myself of that beforehand so that I don't give up on challenging myself.

  20. I am addicted to Ms.Dash! I sprinkle it on everything :) eggs, roasted veggies, salads, soups, etc... Today I swam - I think it will help me tremendously with giving my body a break from running and working on strengthening my core/upper body.

  21. I never thought to bake egg whites like that! I've made em w/cinnamon in a pan or the microwave. I actually made one with cocoa powder like a crepe last night and stuffed it with pb & strawberries. I'll definitely be making these now. Just pinned! :)

  22. As usual I love taking a peek into your competition eats. Unfortunatly, this week is a huge week for me at work and just making it through 10 hour days is all I've got in me. Then add the 1 hour commute each way and my day is totally sucked up.

    I need to try your egg white bites. They'll be great for veggie week next week. Question: How many do you eat for a serving?
