I hope this day finds you well :)
As I've been thinking a lot lately about what I want to do in regards to competing in another Fitness Competition...
I've finally made a decision!
I sure did!
Like I mentioned to you at the beginning of the year...
I started off 2013 without any goals in sight other than to continue...
Living the lifestyle I chose to lead 3 years ago!
And... What a rides it's been! Yeeee haw!
First off...
I was in no rush to commit to anything and...
I wanted (and needed) to be sure that whatever I decided on would be...
Right for me! (Both mentally and physically!)
Me!
After going back and forth in terms of what I wanted to do about my competition season (if there was even going to be one in the first place)...
I finally decided (after much reflection) that yes...
I would prepare for yet another competition! (And perhaps others too, but let's start with one first! lol)
***
~The Provincials~
I qualified for in both the Bikini and Figure categories back in November 2012 (I don't think I've ever brought this up on the blog before but I did!)...

So...
After talking to Coach SuperFit and Sue (an FFA teammate of mine who will also be competing at it too)...
Sue :) :) :)
And...
Listening to my gut...
I decided to commit myself to the Ontario Championships! (I wanted to be sure that my decision to compete came from within and not by influence (it's easy to jump into something because the idea sounds awesome in that moment in time regardless of whether or not your physically and mentally ready for it!)
My Grampa has been teaching me many lessons over the past little while and... The subject of influence has been one of them. I'll talk about this in a later post.
Since my last competition....
I haven't stopped training (I haven't stopped since I first started at the gym really lol) but...
I did rest and charge my #BODYTTERIES...

Lifting my big Teddy Bear! ;)
And...
I've kept to a clean diet with a few 'cheats' here and there! (I've kept to a program that works for me which, allowed me to put on muscle too!)
Sup.
You know I love me my cupcakes!
Having said all that...
My prep to my first Provincial Competition has officially begun (as of last week) and...
I can't wait to get on stage again!
It's always a good time lol
In my custom made bikinis made by none other than the amazing...
Joan MacDonald from Daydreams Fitness Wear! (I have some exciting news to share with you on this end so, stay tuned for that!)

T-Minus...
15.5 weeks to the OPA Ontario Championships!

Are you quick to commit?
Are you working towards any events? Races, competitions...tell me!
Stay Tuned FU More On *CaNdY FiT*
**I love the journey to the stage and the people I get to meet and get to know better along the way. I'm going in with no expectations whatsoever other than to give it my very best and to have FUn which, is always how I enter any event I ever partake in!**

Woohoo!! Congrats girl - awesome news!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! Very exciting!!! Like you, I have never quit once I stared my weights journey 30+ years ago. After competing in my late 30's, I actually had enough of it. It is challenging & rewarding but oh so expensive & way too time consuming.. although I still train like I am competing for something. I get that question all the time. ;) I don't want to do the food part though - I have to be so friggin careful already at my age! :)
ReplyDeleteThe food is the biggest change...the training stays the same for me because it's what I do normally anyway :)
DeleteVery exciting!!!!
