A Lifetime Resolution...

With the new year comes...

A new set of goals or resolutions! (Perhaps even older ones we still be working on or maintaining!)

As we welcome 2013 with open arms (well, I know I am!)...

I can't help but be surprised at the fact that...

I have no goals or resolutions planned out or anything! (Nope! I haven't even thought about it!)

After an amazing 2012 which...

Was filled with things that were said and done (which also included things that weren't even on my radar)...

I sit here, blank, with no concrete goals set in place!

Nope...
Just a #FUFACE.

That being said...

I'm okay with that!

Right now....

I'm living the biggest goal I've ever given myself and that is...

To live a healthy and active lifestyle!

Almost three years after turning my sedentary life around...

I'm still at it and...

I'm still loving it!

So...

When asked about what my plans are for the new year...

All I can say is that...

I strive to continue and maintain what I've been working at since the beginning of my journey...

That being...

The lifestyle I currently be living!(And like I mentioned yesterday, every day is a new day to start anew and/or continue moving forward from where we left off and, that's what I plan on doing!)

Eating well, exercising and taking care of my overall well-being is the most valuable thing I've ever given myself so...

Without question...

This is something I will continue transferring over with every new year that passes!

Working out and eating well makes me feel good both inside and out.

So...

As I continue moving forward in this lifestyle, in this new year...

I will call this commitment to myself (to live a healthy life)...

A lifetime resolution if you will!

In other words...

A resolution that will last me a lifetime!

Ya...

I like the sound of that! :)

What about you...

Do you have any lifetime resolutions or perhaps goals that have transferred over year after year?

  1. This post is such a great reminder that not all resolutions we make for ourselves need only last the year. What makes us and keeps us happy and healthy should be what we strive for the rest of our lives.

The lifetime resolution that I set into motion two years ago was to live life for me. For too long I was doing what was expected of me rather than going out and enjoying the things I loved. I cut ties with the negative people in my life once and for all and I've never looked back.
I never want to return to the old, miserable me. I'm having too much fun indulging in life's pleasures!

  2. Absolutely agree - resolutions shouldn't be for quick things that don't last or affect a lifetime. I'm continuing on my quest and with my resolution for great health, well-being, more positivity, and less stress.

  3. That is EXACTLY how I feel. I guess you could say me resolution is to stay the course? I love this crazy, active life!

My lifelong goal: Live, Love, Laugh, Learn.

And hugs...lots and lots of hugs.

  5. I'm not making any resolutions this year either. I just have some goals that I was to accomplish!

  6. I don't really make any resolutions or goals either. I chose a word for the year instead and hope that sets the tone for the year ahead.

  7. I make goals for the new year otherwise I kind of wander. It all leads to my lifetime resolution to live life to it's fullest each and every day.

  8. Love your point of view! I totally agree that the change to healthy living should be something that we continue forever. Not just for a year or a few months!! I have goals that I'd like to accomplish through the year, but they are generally new milestones that I have yet to hit through my healthy life!

  9. Great perspective on the new year. I hardly ever set resolutions, just have some goals. I guess they are the same thing, but the word resolution always seems like it is destined to be over by February. A goal you can re-evaluate and adjust as needed.

And um, I want to start 2013 with a hug from Teddy.

  12. That's awesome. I'm a bit manic and I love little goals - yearly, monthly, weekly, whatever. But a lifetime goal - sounds like you're on to a winner.

  14. LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!! As one that does not make resolutions & no outward goals although I have things I want to do, I love this. At 55 years old, you can tell I am doing what you wrote about above. It is a lifelong thing for me - health & fitness & healthy living! :) I have been writing if few a while now: Always learning & always a work in progress. I am good with that! :)

  15. I love this! Sorry, I'm a little late on the comment track cause I've been oh so sick. I so totally agree with the idea of lifetime resolutions, though I never thought of it that way. I too have committed for life to exercise, a vegan lifestyle, animal activism. I do find though, as I'm doing this year, the need to up the ante a bit, like in my training. Yes, I still run, but my goal is to train a little harder this year. Just little tweaks to the already good habits.
