WIAW: Competition Day Eats and Tasty Balls!

Happy Wednesday Halloween!

Would this count as a costume?
I'm a Peanut Butter Junkie ;)

In case you didn't already know...

Today is Halloween and...

It's also Hump day! (This means I'm that much closer to coming home!)

In keeping with tradition...

Today calls for another edition of What I Ate Wednesday thanks to Jenn over at Peas and Crayons!

Spooky Snacks and Healthy Halloween Treats

Last week...

I shared with you the FFA Team celebratory potluck goodies we had after the SAF and Physique Canada competitions...

FFA Peanut Butter Cupcakes.
(Not the actual colour of them!)

So this week...

Since I added the IDFA competition to my list (at the last minute)...

I have yet another celebratory meal to share with you all! (And will no doubt have another after my third competition this coming weekend with OPA! lol)

As you may already know...

I had Chip and Salsa as well Fajitas from Lone Star immediately following the show!

Mini FU did too ;)

But before that (meaning the hours before my show and while I was pumping up backstage)...

I had some the following:

Egg Oats in a bowl.
Baked Egg Oats on a plate.
(Minus the coffee)
Haddock.
Shots of maple syrup before stepping on stage.
Nuts at intermission
And..
An Oatmeal Carob Chip Protein Bar.

But...

Do you wanna know what I was most excited to pop into my mouth post-comp?!

Linday's Healthy Bites I had ordered just a few weeks back! (They arrived just in time!)

I swear...

These balls were everything I had imagined they would be...

Incredible!

I got an assortment of flavours and they were all amazing!
I saved some for this weekend  no doubt! :)

Oh and...

I also had my very first taste of a Starbucks Skinny Pumpkin Spice Latte! (I finally got to enjoy one while waiting for my flight this past Sunday! My pre-comp diet didn't start again 'til Monday so, I made sure to slip one into my daily must-haves!)

Mmmmm Mmmm!

Ohhhkay...

I think that's enough food for one day but, before I go...

Lost in Time...

Morning all!

I hope your Tuesday is starting off on a great note!

If not...
Do the #FUFACE! ;)

As for me...

I'm doing good although...

I'm away from home (way out west from where I live) having a bit of a hard time adjusting to the time difference! (Clocks are three hours back here!)

Since my arrival late Sunday night...

I've only slept a handFUl of hours, which I'm totally not used to! (I'm not getting my 8 hours right now!)

In all honesty...

I knew this week would be a little tough on me seeing that I'm prepping for my third Fitness Competition

And...

I'm not at home which...

Has thrown me a bit for loop! (It's now 330am and I'm up! lol)

Having said that...

I'm doing my best to keep everything as normal as possible but...

I won't deny....

I do miss being in the comfort of my own environment!

I miss my babes!
And FFA!

Either way...

I'm making sure to FIT in my workouts (into my busy schedule while I'm here)...

And...

Ensuring I keep to my competition diet without missing a beat!

Steamed Fish and Veggies.

If there's one thing that has really kept me focused (in trying to get all of the finer details together while away)...

Now that is one focused  FU!

It's these backstage photos that were posted by Physique Canada last night!

I won't deny...

They got me all excited to see the girls...

Me and Moe!
FFA group hug!

And...

They got me excited to compete again this coming Saturday at the GNC Live Well Ottawa Championships...

Despite my being...

Lost in time! (I got this!)

Only...

4 sleeps to go!!!

Question FU You...

Have you ever had to prep for an event away from home?

I'm Not Done...

Let me elaborate a little more...

I'm not done with competing!

Nope!

No....no...

I am not! (Which is what I've been hinting at throughout my posts last week!)

Initially...

I had planned on doing the Ontario Physique Association show after the October 20 show (in a decision made after the competition along with 7 other of my FFA Teammates)...

But...

In a spur of the moment decision...

I also decided to register for the International Drug Free Athletics Ottawa/Gatineau Classic which took place...hmmm...

Ready for it...

Saturday night!!! (For those who weren't already aware!)

***

Let's rewind a little bit shall we?!...

At first...

I wasn't sure if I even wanted to do another show based on the fact I'd be away during the last week of prep (for the OPA competition) and second of all...

I wanted to be certain I was in the right frame of mind before committing to anything!

Although I knew I was committed to a Cappuccino the morning after the show!

Since I had a blast at my first competition of the season (dating back 9 days now)...

The thought of extending my prep by just a couple of weeks didn't bother me! (I've been following my program for quite some time now so prolonging it didn't sound like too much to ask for...for me at least!)

Plus...

I really, really wanted to wear my suit again! (That Joan from Daydreams Fitness Wear made just for me!)

Thanks Joan'z'!

All that being said...

I bounced back from the competition (and potlucks) really well (it took my body no time to get back on track)...

My first workout post-comp!
It felt great :)

And so...

In a random idea proposed to SuperFit...

I officially registered for the IDFA competition Saturday morning! (I'll have you know, I wasn't following the typical 5 days out prep because we thought I'd only be doing OPA on November 3. Having said that, everything seemed to be in the right place for the IDFA show so we thought... why not?! lol)

Let's just say...

I got all my stuff together at lightening speed...

My competition suitcase I never really unpacked! lol

And...

I got ready to step on stage in the Open (one level up from Novice) Fitness Category with less than 24 hours to prepare!

Thanks 007 for doing my hair!!!
J'chtaime gros!
xo
My makeup and lashes!

There's no denying....

There was definitely a thrill in doing this on such short notice!

Yeeee haw!
#FUFACE

Although...

Do you want to know what I was most excited about?!

Well, the fact that...

SuperFit and I ended up making special date night of out my competing with IDFA! (Yes, we sure did!)

I can't hide how much...

I looked forward to this experience with him and...

How special it felt to have my boyfriend backstage with me! (And not having him in a backstage manager role, which is totally different!)

I mean...

I had butterflies in my stomach just thinking about the idea! (It made me really giddy inside lol!)

Love you
xo

And to top it all off...

We had FUn throughout the night doing something so spontaneous!

Pumping up...
Fooling around :)
Posing!

We even saw familiar faces and...

Made new friends along the way!

By the end of the night...

I came in 3rd place in the IDFA Open Fitness Category! (WoO Hoo!)

Right before stepping on stage!

And to celebrate...

We enjoyed some late night nachos and fajitas!

Lone Star...
You did not disappoint!

All in all...

I had an awesome date night with my man and I loved every moment of it! (I'm really happy I decided to add IDFA to my list!)

Now...

I've got 2 competitions down and...

1 more to go!

Question FU You...

Have you ever registered for an event at the very last minute?

**IDFA wasn't anywhere on my radar until the other day! I was a bit nervous given that everything was so last minute but, it made it really FUn and exciting! It was all in good times and I had no expectations! I was just happy I got to do this with my man by my side! xo**
