Staying Connected with mySELF!

Morning all and...

Happy Tuesday to ya!

Like my new glasses?
I can see clearly now ;)

First off...

Let me tell you how excited I am about the positive feedback I got regarding my new weekly tradition called...

And let's just say...

I'm super pumped to have you join in this recipe exchange!

I have a feeling the outcome will be...

Nothing but good! (Literally! lol)

Okay so...

Today I wanted to talk to you about my  life as of late and...

What I've been up to now that I have no tangible fitness goals in sight! (2013 is wide open at this moment in time!)

It's true.

To be completely honest...

My goal right now is to...

Re-connect with myself  as I continue moving forward in my healthy living journey and...

Life as a whole!

Why? Because...

I feel that sometimes when I work towards a goal...

As much as I put in the conscious effort to learn and grow (both mentally and physically)...

I can't really give 100% of myself to doing just that! 

As much as I strive for balance!

I won't deny...

There's more of myself that goes into achieving my goals versus...

My taking the time to really sit down and reflect on how these goals are shaping me as an individual! (I do my best to put in the time but I know it's not enough because I'm always jumping from one thing to the next!)

That's why right now...

My focus it to simply enjoy living in the present and...

Really enjoying every moment that I have here, right now! (Whether it be with myself or others!)

By taking the time to sit back and just let myself be (without working towards anything specifically)...

This will enable me to connect with myself (on many levels) and...

It will allow me to refocus, regroup as well as...

Live, appreciate and be grateFUl for all the things I've put into me and my ever-changing self! 

Don't get me wrong...

I love me a goal and I love working towards them too but...

I believe that staying connected with our inner-self is a really important goal to work towards as well! (As much as we want to stay on top of things and not miss a beat, we have to ensure that we don't lose the connection with ourself in the midsts of things!)

Having said all of this...

Here's how I plan to stay connected with myself...daily!

I'll take this thoughtFUL gift I received from a blog reader as a sign of my needing to re-connect with my mat and most importantly...

With myself on it!

  1. After such a huge commitment and achieving such a big goal, that time to pause and be present is needed, inf act it's needed all of the time but especially in light of what you've achieved. Enjoy! xo

  2. LOve this Kierston!!! I do think it is important to take time to reconnect & just relax too. Goals are great but I think if we keep at it too much for too long without a break, we can actually lose ourselves even more. PERFECT with the way you plan to do this - I may be copying! ;)

  6. i think it's really true that sometimes we get so focused on achieving one thing we neglect others or sometimes forget why it even matters

  7. Awesome focus! I stay connected with myself through daily activities that compose "me time" (fitness, reading, and positive thinking).

  8. Focusing on making some 'me' in the day - which is usually running time. But also just sitting down and enjoying my kids at night.

  11. It's so easy to get wrapped up in planning and doing. You do get lost and don't know your purpose. That's what I love about running but yoga takes it to another level. My brain quiets and my heart opens.

  12. Slowing down and not always chasing a goal is such a smart idea. I'm a big goal chaser and it's good to remind yourself that it's okay to breathe sometimes!

  15. Knitting is my lifeline to sanity! It forces me to sit, pause and reflect. I do it daily (although the past week I have been remiss...)

I know what you mean about dedicating yourself to a goal so much that you can somehow lose sight of how working toward that goal is shaping you and allowing you to grow as an individual.     It sounds so so simple and yet if we dont make it a choice and a focus it's so easy to lose ourselves.
