Wednesday!
Why?
Because I get to share with you some of my Birthday and Post-Half-Marathon Celebration Eats that are..guess what...
Fitness Competitor Friendly! (Well, for the most part!)
Fitness Competitor Friendly! (Well, for the most part!)
Stuffed Red Peppers! To match my lululemon red riding hood sweater!
In this edition of What I Ate Wednesday (thanks Jenn for this great and FUn way to display my noms!)...

I will show you all the goodies that were had during my...
P-A-R-T-Y! (That happened a few hours after running my very first 1/2 marathon!)
Without blabbering tooooo much...
Here's what went down!
To begin...
As I'm currently getting ready for two Fitness Competitions coming up on October 20...
I wasn't surprised at the fact that I wouldn't be having any of the treats my little tummy so desired (like ice cream!) so...
I made the most of it and hosted a Competitor Friendly Potluck (with a healthy twist!)!
I wasn't surprised at the fact that I wouldn't be having any of the treats my little tummy so desired (like ice cream!) so...
I made the most of it and hosted a Competitor Friendly Potluck (with a healthy twist!)!
The Gargoyle (Teddy's best friend) was excited.
As many of my friends are also getting ready to hit the SAF and Physique Canada stage...
I wanted to make this dinner party a stress-free environment for all competitors, especially when it came down to the 'diet' department! (No special ordering required! lol)
And for those, of course, who weren't following any 'strict' regime...
I wanted to offer them healthy and yummy options as well!
Now, to get everyone involved and to add a little more FUn to the whole thing...
People were encouraged (if they wanted to) to bring a competitor or non-competitor friendly appetizer and together...
We would enjoy each other's creations!
Baked Cucumber Dill Gluten-Free Lentil Chips and Baked Potato Chips for the Chip Lovers! No competitor had chips!
![]() |
In case you want to see what I'm talking about! source
Super Sly's home made salsa was a hit!
For the main course...
I would provide BBQ Chicken (some plain, some not)...
I added Char Crust Seasoning and BBQ Sauce for the non-plain ones.
And...
Oven Broiled Salmon for all!
![]() |
This is my all-time favourite Salmon to eat! Recipe can be found here.
I would also end up making two different types of salads! (One for competitors and the other for non-competitors)
This. Green and Coloured Veggies topped with a Dijon Mustard and Balsamic Vinegar dressing
And that. (old photo, same ingredients) Recipe for this can be found here.
Me, Nikki and Little M.
Made...
Recipe can be found here.
We gave her a helping muscle hand and...
Stuffed as a team!
Rick (Nikki's husband) helped with the BBQ'in!
By the end of all the preparations and cooking...
We dug in...
Continued having FUn...
And of course...
Celebrated my Birthday! (I'm such a child!)
**Nikki make me a huge FUreakin' competitor friendly CuPcAkE! The bottom was made with Oatmeal and Egg Whites and the top with Zucchini and Oatmeal! The frosting was made with Greek Yogurt! I had a little piece of the bottom half! Mmm MMm!**
Like... Tell me this isn't the most amazing thing you've ever seen!
I made a wish!
Those Cakesicles were for non-competitors :)
All in all...
I had fabulous time (and I hope everyone else did too lol) celebrating my birthday and completion of my first half-marathon!
I'm so lucky to be surrounded by so much positivity and love!
Not a day goes by that I am not grateFUl for what I have in my life!
Thank you!
And as for Teddy...
He's still warming up to his wall friend!
Until next time...
Have a great day everyone!
Question FU You...
Have you ever hosted or attended a healthy potluck?
Stay Tuned FU More On *CaNdY FiT*
