Happy With Myself...

Five days have passed since my Fitness Competition...

So today...

I wanted highlight a few things now that...

I've had a chance to reflect some more on my prep and the competition day itself! (In addition to my reflections shared throughout this journey!)

Not edible ;)

To begin...

I really enjoyed my prep to the stage and...

I am beyond lucky and grateFUl to have been (and continue to be) surrounded by such positivity and support! (I realize not everyone has a good support system so, I don't take what I have for granted!)

Preparing myself for a Fitness Competition did have its good and not so good days but...

Like everything else in life...

Not every day is going to be a great day! (We learn through our ups and downs! I mean, everything we do and experience has its purpose...whether we realize it in the moment or later on!)

If I could tell you a couple of things I've come to learn throughout this prep it's...

Patience (all around) and...

Self-Love!

Being Happy with ME!

When preparing for a show...

You come to focus (a lot) on what your body is supposed to (or should) look like as you start getting closer and closer to the competition date! (Speaking from my own experiences!)

In other words...

You start eyeing yourself more closely (or perhaps you don't but, I know I did during my first prep) at areas you wish to improve based on what the judging criteria sets out to judge! (I mean, it is a competition after all and you are being judged on what you are presenting! lol)

But I'll be honest in telling you...

This experience (the prep, the competition itself and everything else in between)...

Has only taught me to better appreciate and love myself for everything I have accomplished throughout my journey to health and fitness! (And when it comes to the competition, I know I put in and gave it my very best and, that makes me happy with myself!)

And really...

I love what I presented and that's what matters most!

2011 and 2012

Because there's no denying...

How easy the thought of "you weren't good enough" can quickly enter your mind! (We have to remember where we started and how far we've come no matter the outcome! Be it in a competition, a race, what have you! The importance rests in the effort you put forward in making your goal a reality and continuing to give it your all...always!)

Competing is FUn for me and...

I really truly enjoy every aspect of it! (The training, the diet, the everything!)

SuperFit and Me :)
Baked Oatmeal Protein Muffin Tops

Especially...

The friendships and memories made! (And the personal growth!)

Overall...

I am proud of everything I put forward and no one can take that away from me! (No one!)

I am me...

FU.

And...

This is who I am! (I work hard, I train hard and, I give 110% of myself to whatever it is I put my mind to!)

 #FUFACE and all! ;)

Taking care of my overall health and wellness is truly my biggest reward as...

Nothing is more important than being healthy and treating my body right, but most importantly...

Loving myself both inside and out every step of the way!

All that being said...

I leave you with this song which...

I believe FITS perfectly with how I feel right now :)

Question FU You...

What makes you happy with yourself?

Stay Tuned FU More On *CaNdY FiT*

**And just so you know...I don't maintain a competition physique all year round. My competition day body isn't my every day body (nor will it be). I have fun while getting ready for a fitness competition and I love the Team I am a part of! I also love that we do everything naturally! Competing is something I choose to do. If I didn't enjoy it, then I wouldn't do it...simple as that :) I love to train, run, do yoga, spin and I simply love the lifestyle I lead which includes: exercise, balance and moderation! Competing is something I've come to really like doing and I plan on doing again real soon :)**

  11. I love this, I have someone close to me that went from anorexia to competitions and I think that her self-love is still low or non-existent, it is really comforting to know that there can be self-love and happiness with your body within this realm. Thank you for being so honest!

    1. There is absolutely lots of self-love and happiness to be found within this realm! What I've come realize the second time around is to appreciate and be happy with myself every step of the way....if it didn't make me happy...then why do it, right?

I hope your friend finds love within herself

  20. Love to read your posts about your prep and diet etc. but can I ask about the tans? I wonder if it is cosmetic or if you use a tanning bed to prep for competitions. They seem so dark and I am sure that is so it shows better on the stage, but would you address it in a post sometime cause I am so darned curious.

I think it is wonderful that you work so hard and have so much fun with it all! Cheers!
