11 Weeks Out: Becoming a Crunching Tiger!

So I punched myself in the face...

That's right. I punched myself.

Proof!
See?!
No pun intended ;)

Let's rewind a little bit shall we?!

Before celebrating the 11 weeks I had left until competition day...

I went out for a 4.5K run...

I'm still having pains in my ankle.
Total bummer.

Which was shortly followed by...

THE most intense Abs workout I've done to date!

Earlier in the week....

I had specifically asked 007 out on a workout date so that she could show me her crazy Abs circuit she's been doing over the past little bit!

And I'm not joking when I say...

This circuit left me ABSolutely sore to the core for four days following the workout itself! (Yep!)

After getting through the demo and working at my lack of coordination (and my giggling)...

We got to business at Florida Fitness Aylmer!

Once I got into the groove (although SuperFit and 007 may still beg to differ! lol)...

I immediately felt my core being worked at a level I hadn't experienced before! (I knew I'd feel it the day following!)

There's no denying...

I became one hell of a crouching Crunching Tiger by the end of our three sets!

What we did:

Feel free to go from 10 to 15 :)

Trust me (if you plan on doing it)...

It's going to kiiiiill! (I'll be doing this once a week from here on out! Thanks 007!)

So getting back to punching myself in the face....

Since 007, Martin, SuperFit and I have been planning to go ziplining for quite some time...

We finally set a date to go to Lafl├Ęche Adventure!

We had too :)

As there are a number of activities you can sign up for at this place...

We ended up going with the Summit Aerial Park! (You can read more about it here)

This four hour adventure through the trails would have us go through a number of suspended bridges (obstacles) and zip lines at various heights!

It was guaranteed FUn in a bag!

Before heading out...

I made SuperFit and me some picnic eats! (We would bring our lunch with us to enjoy out in the 'wilderness' post-adventure)

Chicken, Dijon Mustard, Fennel (which I though was Dill) wrapped in, well, a wrap!
Mmm Mmm.
I made sure to pack SuperFit's favourite Baked Chips
as a little treat  for him :)

Once we signed our waiver, got assembled and through the orientation...

I pretty much need people to spell things out for me
when it comes to things like this.

Our adventure began!

#FUFACE

In as little as an hour...

I punched myself in face while trying to break on the zip line pictured below!

And here I thought I was going to perfect what
they had taught us during the orientation!
lol

I didn't hit myself once, but twice! (I pressed too hard on the wire which resulted in my hand swinging back in my face...two times over! It would be the last time I would ever see my right lens again!)

**Did I mention I dropped my glasses twice while getting through the obstacles (after I broke them)?! Yes, it's true. Our amazing Guide caught them for me the first time and SuperFit the second! As 007 would say, these things only happen to me and it's only a matter of time before they do lol**

Aside from that episode...

We had a great time!

There's no doubt in my mind...

We will definitely do it again! (At night!)

After our great 4 hour adventure in the bush...

We were hungry!

So guess what?!

We ate ;)

Nom Nom.

Oh and before I move on...

Looks like my brother, Mr. FUntastic, got up to some 'lining' type of activity himself!

Not Ziplining but Slacklining!
This is totally something I'd wanna try out!

Okay moving on now...

On the pre-competition prep front...

Everything has been going well and I'm on track when it comes to my dieting and training! (I don't have tooooo much to report on that front!)

You can check out a bunch of my eats and recipes here!

I felt a bit tired during yesterday's Biceps and Triceps workout so...

I ended going lighter with my weights!

That being said...

I ended up getting a super awesome pump!

A pleasantly surprised #FUFACE
It's good to go lighter from time to time.
I do this once every 6 weeks or so.

And on the running end of things...

I just hope my ankle heals up soon so I can get back to distance running again! (It's getting frustrating, I won't deny that!)

Until then...

I've got my eye on you! ;)

Happy FUriday everyone!

Questions FU You...

1. Have you done the Aerial Park thing or Slacklined before? Would you like to?
2. What exercise(s) do you like doing for your Abs?

  1. Love Ziplining! I'm afraid of heights so I was not sure if I could handle it. Not so! Fun and not as scary as I thought it would be. Maybe I'm not afraid of heights? :)

  8. You crack me up. Sounds like something I'd do. Sounds like an awesome core workout. I've never used the TRX system but it looks killer. I like using the stability ball for pikes and roll ins. I actually really like working core so whatever you throw my way, I'll do.

  10. I've never ziplined, but we go slacklining all the time and I am MADLY in love with it. It's a great core workout too because trying to keep your balance as you're moving around on a 2 in piece of webbing is quite a feat! Glad you had fun on your adventures!
