Playlist Thursday: That About Covers It!

Every week....

Pavement Runner puts out a list of songs that "can or should be included in your workout playlist"!

This week...

I decided to jump on the bandwagon and participate in...

Here's how it works:

I have to choose three songs following the specified theme, this week being...

"Cover Me"


Cover songs!

And from there...

I have to follow this simple format:

Something Old: These will be songs that are at least 5 years old. I know that isn’t too long to be considered old, but music turnover happens quickly.
Something Current: These will be songs that have been released within the past year Does a couple of years count?! lol I know, but you have to give me some leeway here.
Something to Consider: These will be songs that are not typically heard on the radio and may be by artists you’ve never heard of or considered running to. This is the wild card category, can be old or current.

Side Note: I've always enjoyed Britney! I think she did a fab job with this one! Brings me back to my high school days! Let's just say, Brit (ya that's right, I said Brit! lol) can always "hit me one more time" with a good track I love to sing, dance and workout to!

Song Title: The Time (Dirty Bit) - Original song title: I've had the time of my life.
Original By: Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes

Side Note: Who doesn't love the movie "Dirty Dancing"?! Need I say more?! lol This song is a great remix, perfect for starting a workout and getting yourself alllll pumped up! WoOt! (I'm pumped!)

Quotable: "Dirty bit" lol Obviously "I had the time of my life, no I never felt like this before"

~Something to consider~

Song Title: Redemption Song
Original By: Bob Marley

Side note: If you want to whine down during your cardio cool down, this will do just it! I love me some reggae to finish off any workout! (I actually start my Spin classes with Bob Marley's "Could You Be Loved"! Gets me in such a good mood!) Anything from Bob Marley makes me remember my jam sessions in my friends car as we played air instruments every time one of his songs would come on (okay, that I would put on! lol).

Quotable: "None but ourselves can free our minds" <---- Isn't that right! :)


And I couldn't resist sharing with you this most current take (cover) on Carly Rae Jepson's "Call Me Maybe"! (Thanks 007 for sending me this, you know I'll always be your number one Cookie! lol)
