Day I: Pre-Competition Summer Vacation!

As you all know...

I will be competing this coming Fall, on October 20, in my second Fitness Show, here in the Ottawa/Gatineau Region!

Before the official 13 week countdown...

SuperFit and I planned a trip to Québec City for some quality time away!

We were really excited to get out of the city (and out of our routine) to simply enjoy new things, great food (official prep begins on July 23 so I was able to indulge!) and the culture that was about to surround us for a good three days away!

I should mention we picked a great time of year to go since the city itself was celebrating...

Le Festival D'été! (Summer Festival)

***

As we packed up our bags and got rolling (we drove there, which was about a 5 1/2 hour drive)...

We made it!

It didn't take (feel) long before we found ourselves pulling up to our hotel!

We stayed at Le Chàteau Frontenac situated
right in the middle of Old Québec.
It looks like big ol' castle.
Wait.
It is.

Once we unloaded the car...

We checked in!

I felt like I was in the twilight zone!

As soon as we walked into our room...

We walked right back out as we were ready to explore the city, once again! (But now, during the hot summer season!)

We made our way to Le Quartier Petit Champlain, which is...

One of the most renown parts of Old Québec!

It's an area filled with little locally owned boutiques, restaurants, bistros and cafés!

Honestly...

If you're looking for history, culture and hint of romance, this is the place!

Awwwww....I know right?! ;)

As we found ourselves sitting on the terrace of Le Cochon Dingue...

We both ordered ourselves a great salad!

Asian Chicken Salad!
What the....
He ate it lol

After gobbling down our meal...

We continued our explorations and found ourselves roaming the streets of...

This area has be revived and has now become a tourist attraction due to its 'makeover'!

Look at that mural!

Soon after we arrived to this area...

I got myself a Blitz Crag Daypack from Mountain Equipment Co-op as my purse wasn't doing me good now that we were walking and climbing hills throughout the city!

I never saw my purse again after purchasing this bag!

As I had received word to check out a great sushi place called Yuzu from a friend I met through my blog...

You better believe we made a point to head on over for a try!

You know how much we love our Sushi!

And how much I love my camera ;)
Anxiously awaiting our fishy eats!

Let's just say...

It was, in fact, amazing! (Thanks Andreanne!)

As we made our way back to the hotel...

We made a point to climb up as many of the hills as we could, as well as watch some of street entertainment while on our way there!

That's our hotel in the background!
#FUFACE

There wasn't a street corner without something going on!

There's no denying...

Our first day in Québec city was a hit!

Question FU You...

Have you ever been to Québec City? Would you like to?
