Burgers and Fries Oh My!

My weekend activities continued...

In addition to the exercising I did once I settled back home from the Muskokas...

We went to an Art Show where both SuperFit and my portraits sold! (Literally!)

Not this one ;)

During our visit to Almonte, Ontario...

We walked around, enjoyed the scenery, snapped a few photos (obviously!) and relaxed over some much needed caffeine! (Well, I know I was in need of it! lol)

Hi!
Equator
I've never once seen this made available at any coffee shop!
I was beyond thrilled!
Americano for her!
Cappuccino for him.

Before heading home...

We made sure to get a bag of Espresso! (The beans used to make our drinks were really good!)

Later on that evening...

SuperFit let me in on some indulgent news!

I got to pick a restaurant, wherever I wanted, to eat at! (And have whatever it was my tummy so desired!)

It was time for a 'reboot'! (3 weeks into my new program to reach my goal, SuperFit saw a need give my metabolism a boost!)

**For those who don't already know, SuperFit owns Florida Fitness Aylmer. He has helped, guided, planned out and coached many individuals to achieve and maintain their health and fitness goals and continues to do so to this day! Uhhh..me for one! lol He also guides and trains both men and women to the competition stage (fitness/figure/physique/bodybuilding)!**

So what did I choose for my special meal?!

I picked The Works!

I wanted a Burger and Fries! (Poor SuperFit, all he wanted was a Protein Shake ;) lol)

There's no denying his excitement over my choice :)

Out of the many, many, many burger toppings to choose from...

You also got to pick your:

  • Meat of choice (Pure Ground Beef, Ground Turkey, Whole Chicken Breast or Domestic Elk);
  • Vegetarian options were: Veggie Burger or Portobello Mushroom Cap;
  • Sides (Fries, Sweet Potato Fries, Chips, Onion Rings, Salad etc...);
  • Bun (whole wheat, white);
  • Extras (some are out of this world!) on your Burger: (Kraft Dinner, Onion Rings, Peanut Butter, Cheese, Avocado, Bacon etc...)

In the end...

SuperFit went with The Love Goat...

While...

I went with the Roughriders Comeback! (I added Avocado)

oh.so.so.so.good.
Pretending he's no bursting with excitement on the inside!
 lol
As you can see...
Drinks came in measuring cups :)

Did I finish it all?

Of course!

It was beyond delish!

After an amazing meal...

We went to Dairy Queen where we enjoyed a small Oreo Blizzard! (I had the Oreo Mint Chocolate one! Yummm!)

Note: I do not believe in eliminating your favorite foods out of your diet. I believe we should enjoy what we love in moderation.  I believe in making healthy choices, exercising and fueling our bodies with what it needs as well as allowing ourselves to enjoy life's finer things without feeling restricted! Having said that, if you have a goal you'd like to reach such as, making healthier choices, exercising more regularly, losing 'X'lbs, toning up, putting on muscle, building up your strength, endurance, what have you, then there are specific modifications you will need to make to get there, whether it be in your training and/or diet.
**
In addition to this, if I were on my maintenance program , I would not indulge like this regularly. Yes, I do indulge (of course I do!), but in keeping with my program. That said, I do not feel restricted. I found a system that works for me (for now at least, our bodies do have a tendency to change lol) and I'm happy with it. In the end, it's about finding your balance and what works for you to achieve and maintain what you want.

Once we arrived back home...

We hung at home with the puppies!

Teddy.
4 1/2 months old.

That is...

Before I'd have to get ready for another few days away!

I'll provide you with an update on my progress in my next post!

Questions FU you...
  1. What's your favourite meal/dish?
  2. What did you get up to this weekend?

  1. You are absolutely right. When you totally eliminate foods you love you're setting yourself up for failure. As always, thanks for keeping it real. xo
