Workout: Let's Play Chest!

The beginning of my training week will typically start with a Chest Workout.

I can’t say it’s my favorite muscle group to train, but...

It does fall under one of my stronger suits. (Go figure!)

As some of you may already know…

They sure are!

One of my 2012 resolutions is to dumbbell press the 45lbs.

I’m currently pressing the 40lbs and…

In no way am I rushing my progress.

I want to be sure I’m ready to ‘graduate’ to a higher weight knowing I can do at least 6-8 reps per set while keeping proper form! (None of this pressing halfway down business! My goal isn't to move the weight but yet to do the exercise properly. Either you do it well or don't do it at all!)

I’m not about to push my goal weight for 3 reps and call it ‘mission accomplished’! (nuh unh)

I’m going to take my time, but I can assure you...

I mean…

I don’t want 45lbs dumbbells to come crashing down on my head! (Eeek!)


Okay so…

Ready to play Chest?!

Here’s what my Chest Workout typically looks like! (I added a few exercises since the very beginning of my training a couple years back…like the TRX! It’s loads of FUn!)

Incline Dumbbell Presses...

Flat Dumbbell Presses...

Always make sure to go deep enough in order to do the exercise correctly.

Low Incline Dumbbell Flys...

Pretend like you're flying!
Flap those arms!

Peck Deck (1 set)...

TRX Standing Push-ups (1 set)...

That’s it, that’s all folks! (My heart rate is up and running at FUll speed after this training session! Ooof!)

  1. I love dumbbell flyes and peck decks! Especially peck decks because they make my chest feel strong. the ladies sit up better because of it. ;)

  2. I like decline presses - hanging upside down-like makes me feel hard core :)

    Shoulder day used to be my favourite, but I have a new love for leg day now!? Where that came from I will have no idea!?!
