Be My...

It’s that time of year again where we all give each other those extra hugs and kisses just because the day calls FU it! (Mmmmmm…Hershey’s Hugs and Kisses are soooo good!)

Who doesn't like a hug and a kiss ;)

Valentine’s Day is a day of L.O.V.E (pretty sure I didn’t need to explain it!), and…

I’m a total sucker when it comes to celebrating it!

Yes, yes I am! (Insert SuperFit’s rolling of the eyes here.)

I mean...

Do I love heart shaped things? Yes.

These are amazing!

Do I love receiving boxes of chocolates? Did you say chocolate?! Duh.

Truffle Treasures.

Do I love Cinnamon Hearts? Not really.

Do I love conversation hearts?! I like conversations, period.

Do I love candlelit dinners? Ummm…yaaa!

Do I love mix tapes (iPod playlists)? I FUreakin’ love that old school fashion of showing someone you care! ;)

Do I love Flowers? Obviously.

Do I love those mini Valentine’s Day Cards that come with a piece of *CaNdY*? Who doesn’t?!

Do I love Teddy Bears?! Absolutely!

I have the most beautiFUl Teddy Bear :)

Do I expect any of these things? Well, maybe a couple ;)

What I enjoy most about this special and love FUeled day is the fact...

It calls FU everything ‘fromage’! (And I love cheese!)

Be corny or draw me a picture…

I love it all! (SuperFit knows I’m a big baby!)

I mean…

He could give me balloons and I’d be on top of the world!

No matter the occasion...
Balloons are always welcomed.

So having said all of this…

How are we celebrating this year?!

Well FU starters…

We are putting off our celebrations to the day following! (I know, I'm so mad lol! In actuality, he has to teach a spin class! I'm sure he'll throw in a FU love songs into his mix just FU me...hint hint, nudge nudge! SuperFit, I'm talking to you! lol)

I decided to take charge of the planning! (I think he was relieved when I told him he didn't have to worry about it lol)

I also figured I’d let him reap from everything I planned! (It may sound like I planned a lot but don’t be fooled!)

Trust me though...

Our night will include lots of talking FU hours over Chocolate Protein Shakes made with love!

You better believe it ;)

A simple yet perfect evening FU the both us don't you think?!

But in all seriousness…

I’m super looking forward to this day of 'relaxation' and L.O.V.E! (I'll post what we did after the fact!)

Seeing that this is a world recognized day FU love

I totally believe Valentine’s Day is one to be celebrated with Family, Friends and/or your loved ones! (My 11 year old sister is adamant about celebrating this day with the family! She wants in on the heart-shaped goodies and chocolates too! I don't blame her! lol)

So with that being said...

Are you looking FU things to do or ideas to add to your own celebrations?

Here’s a list I came up with to get your planning juices flowing (you may laugh at some of these, but they are just meant to be FU FUn!):
  1.   Dinner and Movie at home or out on the town! (I realize it’s typical, but it’s always a good time! Try a different recipe or restaurant to change things up a little!)
  2. Fondue: Cheese, Hot Pot or Chocolate over dim light (use the dimmer to set the mood…that switch works wonders!)
  3. Go out for Tapas – Enjoy an assortment of small, snack, appetizer-like eats well known in Spanish Cuisine. (Yummy!)
  4. Register for an ultimate and memorable culinary experience/workshop! (I’ve done this before, it’s FUreakin’ awesome!) (
  5.  Go dancing! (Or if you want to stay home, put on some Kenny G. or Michael Bublé and slow dance! I love slow dancing lol I told you I was cheese!)
  6. Go skating or rock climbing! (Just to name a couple)
  7. Look up events/activities going on in your neck of the woods! (I know Winterlude is something worth checking out here in the Ottawa/Gatineau Region!)

If you’re worried about the added calories this day might bring...

Here are a FU tips to keep things in check:
  1. If you get a box of chocolates or treats: have a piece or two…don't eat the whole box.
  2. Research and pick a restaurant where you know they offer healthier options.
  3. Prepare a home-cooked meal with the ingredients you know and love.
  4. Apply portion control.
  5. Share your dessert (if you choose to have one).
  6. Limit your alcohol intake.
  7. Enjoy everything in moderation.
See a Reese's.
See no Reese's.

If you splurged beyond what you’d hoped or imagined…

Don’t worry! (Be happy!)

Just be sure to get back on track the next day!

Happy Valentine’s Day!!! xo
