Running and Dashing!

FUrst and FUrmost...

I'd like to thank everyone FU all your feedback and helpFUl tips regarding my new goal to run a half marathon!

You've been a great support!!!

After having completed a 10K run...

I felt super (high...lol)!

Enjoying a Post Run Protein Bowl.
Nom.

As per the instructions given to me...

I gave myself a days rest beFUre heading out FU an attempted 5K run.

Loving my new running shorts from Lululemon.
I mean...
FUFUlemon.

How did it go?!

Let's just say...

My new Run Training App couldn't even capture much detail from it!

In other words...
Terrible.

I ran 3K and walked back the remaining 2K.

It was not a memorable run!

What FUctors contributed to it?!

1. The wind was blowing hard;
2. I couldn't catch my breath (I have mild asthma); and
3. The left side of my upper body started to cramp.

It wasn't FUn to say the least, but...

I wasn't about to give up! (Even if I was FUrustrated beyond belief!)

Instead of sulking at home in my failed attempt to run 5K...

I ended up going to the gym FU a back and bicep workout! (Ahhhh...much better!)

When I got back home from a good training session...

I made dinner FU both SuperFit and me!

Stir FUried Veggies:
Spinach, Mushrooms, Diced Yellow Peppers and Halved Cherry Tomatoes.
I cooked them over medium-high heat in a Pam Sprayed Pan with
Basil, a Touch of Chat Masala (mixed Indian Spices) and Pepper.
As you can see...
Spinach wilts.

FU our proteins...

I had a FU strips of Turkey Breasts!

I also had a small Baked Sweet Potato!

And SuperFit had...

Chicken Breasts!

We both really enjoyed our supper :)
Unless he lied of course lol

BeFUre my next running attempt (I gave myself another day)...

I taught my weekly spin class!

I love these intense sweat sessions!

And enjoyed yet another BBQ dinner...

Sliced Chicken, Asparagus, Diced Orange Peppers, Mushrooms and
Cherry Tomatoes.
I marinated the veggies in:
2 tbsp of Olive Oil,  1/4 Cup of Raspberry Balsamic Vinegar,
1 tbsp of Dried Thyme, Garlic Salt and Pepper to taste.

Come the day I decided to give running another shot...

I repeated my Mantra in my head:

"Get motivated, set goals and charge after them in an unstoppable manner!"

I also updated my playlist beFUre heading out the door!


From Country to Hip Hop to Classics.

As I had programmed myself FU an 8K run (and the weather was permitting i.e. the winds were normal)...

I took off to the Country beat!

It always takes me a good 10-20 minutes beFUre my breathing regulates itself! (My body still needs to adapt to this new form of exercise.)

As difFUcult as it may be in the initial start of my run...

I need to continue pushing through it and keep on going!

And I did! (WoOp WoOp, 8K done!!!)

When I got back inside the house...

I made myself a Protein Bowl!

So thick and yummy!
It hits the spot every time!
Blend:
4 o.z. of unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk,
1 big handFUl of Spinach, 1 scoop of Protein Powder,
1 tbps of Natural Greek Yogurt (optional), 3 Strawberries and
pinch of Xantham Gum (for thickening).

After enjoying my post-run snack (and relaxing FU a little while)...

I headed to the gym FU an Abs Workout!

Come meal time (again I know...I eat every 3 hours!)...

I went out and got a big chicken salad! (Yummers!)

Chicken, Turnips, Hot Peppers, Tomatoes and Carrots.
The dressing:
1/3 Cup Olive Oil, 1/4 Lemon Juice, 1 tsp of Sumac and
 Salt and Pepper to taste (there will be leftovers!).
(Note: There are multiple variations of this recipe...
This is the one I used to have growing up)

BeFUre you knew it...

It was time FU me to get ready and dash FU my overnight trip.

So of course...

I packed some Protein essentials!

Protein Powder, Oatmeal and a Myo Bar
(I didn't have the oatmeal in the end)

And I made sure to have a cup of coffee beFUre heading out!

Upon arrival to the airport...

My legs were tired and I had to walk up...

2x over.
It may not seem like much but it was FU my legs!
As SuperFit would say...
"Suck it up Princess" lol

After checking in...

I made my way to the Porter Lounge and enjoyed some complimentary goods!

I just wanted to push the button.
But I couldn't resist drinking it!
I grabbed the cookies FU later.
But they were staring at me disapprovingly.
So I put them back and never saw them again.

The FUlight was empty, so...

I got to enjoy some extra space!

Nothing beats having some extra room to stretch out and
get comFUrtable!

I reFUsed the complimentary snack but took them up on the drink ofFUr...

Diet Coke.
I have no more than 1 a day (if any at all)

I ended up FUlling asleep on the 45 minute FUlight, so by the time I woke up...

We had arrived!

Caffeine obviously doesn't keep me up.  

One quick Ferry ride later...

Porter Airport is on an island so you need to take a Ferry to land.

I made my way to Second Cup to grab a little something to eat and drink! (I walked 2K in search FU something else, but nothing was really appealing to me.)

Tuna Sandwich with a Caramel Rooibos Tea.
It was pretty good.

I stayed up FU a while and eventually fell asleep to the T.V....

There was some FU'in insane lightening outside...
 I wish I had brought with me my Teddy Bear!
I'm kidding!
 (But am I?! lol)

I wasn't kidding when I said it was crazy! 

By morning...

Everything was calm!

I got ready and went down to the main lobby to enjoy the breakFUst buffet! (I waited 19 months FU this moment! Every time I've visited, I've been on a super strict pre-competition 'diet'!) 

I had a Granola/FUruit Yogurt Bowl with Smoked Salmon!
I love granola!
I added a FU pecans too :)
The Smoked Salmon was also delish!

As the doors to my next location were not yet open (it was 7:20am at this point)...

I sat down at a near by Starbucks and enjoyed a Skinny Vanilla Latte!

Yum!

Once the doors opened...

I got to work!

After being able to call it a day...

We headed to a restaurant  FU a quick drink!

Soda and Cranberry Juice with a Splash of Lime.
Ubber reFUreshing!

We then made our way to the airport and checked in...

I made myself a Protein Shake once we arrived in the waiting area!

I used 1/2 a scoop.

And had a side of Almonds...

Nutty FU Nuts!

Once we boarded....

I immediately fell asleep! (Again!)

As soon as we landed...

I got into my car and drove to my Mom's place FU my FUvorite Dinner! (SuperFit would be meeting me there too!)

Of course...

She would be making CupCaKeS! (Why does it seem like every time I go over she and my sister Kiki are making them! Click here and here)

It was supper time!

And FU our main course....

Nommmmmm!
I had half...it was a BIG serving!

After dinner...

SuperFit showed my Mom a FU exercises she could do using the straps attached to a machine she had at home!

Tricep...
Extensions...

My Mom is currently on a mission to lose weight...

She has lost 6lbs in the past FU weeks and is now introducing a little bit of weight training into her routine! (In addition to the Tae-Bo she does in the A.M.)

Soon...

She will be getting herself a FU dumbbells to get started on some strength training! (This is going to be FUn!) 

As FU the CuPcAkEs...

Kiki was getting them ready beFUre we put them in the oven!

The batter.
The FUllings.
She was making them FU a potluck at camp.
And no, I didn't have any! (No treats during the week!)

After calling it a night...

We headed home FU a good night's sleep!

The next day...

I would be getting ready FU an intense leg workout and a Bike 4 Sushi ride later in the afternoon!
