No Cheat For You FU!

In light of our upcoming trip, a decision was made:

1 day free for all with all the deliciousness goodness I had planned on having would only happen in my dreams... 

Phoebe ain't sympathizing ;)

Learning this was bit of a bummer, but I knew I'd survive :)

Plus, there was good news (Yup!!!):

1. I got a cheat meal with no sugars = No *CaNdY*

So I ate Sushi til I was sick and enjoyed....

POPCORN! 
I pretty well inhaled the whole bag in no time.

The other piece of good news (and pretty obvious I would think) was...

2. Our Cuban vacation!!!

I learned that...

I would have the opportunity to relax with my 'diet' (which I didn't expect at all!) and enjoy a FU sweet treats in Cuba (and it wouldn't be assigned to specific meals or days ~ I really do mean "relax"...so Yipee for Me!!).

I think it's a fair compromise!

**Note: Even if I have more leniency towards my 'diet', I want to be smart about it too. Meaning, I plan on being conscious of what I'm putting into my body! I've learned a lot throughout the year about eating right and making 'smart food' choices (and I'm not referring to smart food popcorn lol). So, I want to continue on with my healthy eating habits, and ultimately, the new healthy lifestyle I've chosen to follow!**

Now, the tricky thing about going away to an all-inclusive resort is you really have no idea what to expect in terms of the food served (aside from the 'bad' stuff) you know will always be around (and by 'bad' I mean delicious!)....

Such as:

1. 24/7 Buffets = pizza, burgers, ice cream, all the deep-fried stuff etc...;
2. A la carte restaurants; and
3. Sugar, Sugar, Sugar and more Sugar....

And we all know I love Sugar!
**Just so you know, none of these were mine! Seriously! I swear! I promise! No Lie..For Real!**

 Although, this sugar filled treat is a different story! 
It was alllll mine (2x over)
(I'm having ice cream by the pool side = Heaven!)

So you can be sure I'll be bringing the following:

1. Protein Powder;
2. Oatmeal;
3. Myo Lite Bars (they are great in taste!);

Nutrition wise:
Good on cals, carbs, fat and protein :)
SuperFit Approved (for my 'relaxed diet')

4. Magic Bullet (ya...the bullet!).

Because I definitely know..

Being around this much FU'd, 24/7, will be the difficult part... (meaning temptation will be present at all times!)

That's why it's a good thing I'll have my own stash of healthy goods!

You see at home, I only have one box of goodies from Truffle Treasures, which I keep hidden....

 If not, it looks a little something like this:

There's 99.8% left of this box since it was born at X-Mas!
I nibbled on FU things during my cheats, of course!

So by having temptation trying to lure me in while vacationing....

I'll have to increase my restraint level by 100% and really, really fight the temptation to be bad! ~ but not at allll times ;)

It wasn't me!

I will do my very best to eat as clean as possible (while still enjoying a FU things in moderation!) but...

I'm not going to go FU'ng nuts!...as

I don't want to jeopardize my efforts thus far into my pre-comp preparation!

So, I'm planning ahead! ~ (The Masta taught me well!)

"Baby Fu, you always have to be prepared!"
Me:  "Yes Masta!"
He's always this serious when giving me a life lesson ;)

Because I know...

It's easy to get carried away...and not by the waves ;)

I'm in pre-comp mode, so duty calls (and I have to answer)!!! 

Like the Ol' saying goes: Life's a Beach!!!

Side note: I don't FUllow Beach Rules very well!

I'm just happy I'll be some place hot, with a beach, sand and great company! ~ Where FU'd will be the least of my concerns!

So don't be FU'lled...

My Life isn't all about FU'd...
(Although I do enjoy writing about it, let alone eat it lol)!

And I sure know how to lick a place clean...literally!

All to say...

I'm really looking forward to the time away and enjoying life's simple pleasures...

I'm on vacation damnit!

And, I'm going to make every moment...

Leavin' on a Jet Plane...

Don't know when I'll be back again...

 Of course I do! I have a competition to come back to!
Oh and reality!

After 2 months, 3 weeks (6 days, 7 hours, 45 minutes and 28 seconds) of training and dieting like a FU (but who's counting?!)...

 It was time for me to start thinking about my beach attire!!!

SuperFit and I will be attending a wedding at the end of March (next week)! His good friends 'Nookie' and Matt will be getting married under the hot sunshine, on the beautiful sandy beach of Varadero, Cuba!

This will be the first time, in my entire life, where I've actually exercised and 'dieted' prior to a vacation. Perfect timing I'd say! What's FUn is Nookie will also be competing in the July show! So, we'll both be soaking up the bursting  rays of sunshine before we 'burst' out onto the stage! This will serve as a great base for our Stage Tan!

Yup, we need to be nice and tanned for the stage! Thankfully, there's tanning cream specifically made for this occasion. And trust me, we need to put on loads and loads of fake, creamy tanning goodness before we can step out into the bright lights....

Back to the vacation prep...

In preparation for this vacation, I bought myself a bunch of 'mix and match' bikinis from Victoria's Secret as a little gift to myself (and why not?!).

I was so excited, I had a duplicate order sent to me thinking they had not delivered it when I got the notification saying they did (really really long story...)

I was way too FU'in excited I jumped the gun...
Big time!

It was more of a headache dealing with the duplicate order than waiting for the actual parcel to arrive 5 hours later ~ (and there you have it, my long, long story!) ;)

Now this is my kind of mail!

**I promise you: I am not a headache to deal with....I was simply too excited when I got an email notification saying my package was delivered, then sadly being advised by SuperFit no such parcel had arrived! Don't worry, I didn't throw a tantrum, I put truth the ol' sayin 'Big Girls Don't Cry'! ;) **

Moving on..... 

The tricky thing about ordering online is you are FUlly going blind in guessing your size. Luckily for me, I returned nothing (this was such a moment of relief!)...

 (oh and just a bit of training and 'dieting' lol)

This was the first time (there seems to be a lot of first times!) everything 'FIT'! (This is typically not the case when bikini shopping!)

I felt comfortable wearing what I bought!

But most importantly...

I was proud of myself! (and you would hope so!)

Planning our week in Cuba...

We haven't yet FUlly determined what the plan will be in terms of my 'dieting' throughout the week... (Don't worry, I will get to enjoy a FU delicacies Cuba has to offer!)

What I do know is...

It won't be a free for all (understandably so!) and there will continue to be structure in my FU'd intake...

Or I might come back a little bloated! ;)

In terms of training, SuperFit and I (of course) will make use of the equipment available at the resort. We'll keep the Pump going ;) (We're on vacation...so it will be to a lesser degree to what we usually do, that's for sure!)

Last year in Cuba...
I was motivated to getter done!

**Note: I will keep you all posted in terms of how it all works out! I'm ready, so bring it on ;) Although I'm sure it will be easier said than done as I'm writing this at home, inside, hiding from the cold, away from the beaches and 24/7 buffets!!!**

At least I won't be needing a coat!

As promised...

Here's an updated list of my highs & lows thus far in my pre-comp preparation....

7. I'm lower on the Body Fat Measurement Scale
8. I'm happy with my Bikini purchases!
9. None of my work pants fit (Bitter Sweet feeling as I do like my clothes but I do get to shop for replacements!)
10. SuperFit has been keeping a similar regiment to mine, which is so helpful and supportive!!! Trust me, it helps when you're not watching someone eat everything you wish you could have when your options are so limited.
11. My skin/complexion has changed...it's never felt better!!!
12. I feel stronger = lifting heavier
13. I put on more muscle mass!
14. I was randomly asked if I trained; they thought I looked fit! (This was a huge compliment!)

1. Turtle pace metabolism (this is what 7 years did to me...now I have to rev it back into fast gear) = 'Dieting' Harder to get my metabolism going (it's stubborn...so, SuperFit needs to manipulate certain aspects of my 'Diet' from time to time)
2. Mood changes on prolonged carbless days
3. Irritability (trust me, sometimes watching people eat food you love is irritating.....like *CaNdY*)

New lows:

4. Again, slower results than what I'd wish for (bringing us back to my metabolism) ~ But, I'm patient (most of the time lol)
5. I'm starting to hate food ads/commercials! I don't want (more like can't) try any new burger or 5$ foot long, nor do I want to start my day with Nutella or any breakfast sandwich, let alone any new hot eats or cool treats from DQ and I especially have no interest in this new Choco/PB relationship...

YUK! ;)

In summary...

We can clearly see the highs outweigh the lows, so....

I continue to remind myself of my accomplishments as it's the key to my drive in getting me to the finish line.

Although....

Giving it 100% of my efforts is even more Powerful...
It revs up my engine!


Vroom Vroom...
I realize my boots are freakin' hot! Right?!

And I feel like...


I can carry the world's weight on my shoulders ;)
(So to speak of course)

Training with the one & only SuperFit :)

SuperFit and I don't often get to train together, so when the moment presents itself...

You can be sure I'll take FUll advantage of it!

Reason being: I work during the day while he trains during a set time every morning (I stay away from the morning breath - joke, he smells like flowers - another joke. He smells just fine ~ that's safe right?! lol).

Each workout with SuperFit at Florida Fitness Aylmer has never disappointed! There's a reason why he's booked solid with his personal training (PT). You want results, go see SupertFit!

**This should explain why I jump for joy (literally) when the opportunity is there ~ by either slipping in between his PT programs or if he's catching up on a workout during the weekend!**

I'll be there, ready for a monstrous training session! 
(Which took place most recently on a Saturday Morning ~ He had to catch up....YAY!)

1. Biceps; and
2. Triceps

I must say, my training dates with SuperFit are a little different than those with 007 as...

There is no coffee or flowers to be had....

I miss 007! lol ;)

But, like SuperFit says:

**Note: Whether it be that I'm training alone, with 007 or SuperFit, we all  have FUn while we're at it. We (as in SuperFit and I) may even break down into a dance in between sets (if the song is right, of course!) - You gotta love what you're doing and have FUn while you're doing it; even in the most intense of workouts!


It's not a chore, it's a passion! ~ Just don't FU'll around during sets..that's a big NO NO!

This was an eye opener for me in terms of my progress!
It took me a sec to process it as I've never seen my arm from that angle...
I'm still processing!

Some of the many benefits to training with SuperFit are:

1. He ensures I'm doing my exercises correctly;
2. He pushes me to places I never thought possible; and
3. He consistently motivates me to strive for more!

As musical artist Usher would put it...

If you really want more, scream it out louder,
If you're on the [gym] floor, bring out the fire,
And light it up, take it up higher,
Gonna push it to the limit, give it more.


This pretty well sums up my workouts with SuperFit! ~ I hope you enjoyed my discrete personal touch to the lyrics ;)
Let's remember, I struggled lifting 15lbs on the loathed Shoulder Press (Machine #7) when I first started on my trek towards fitness. I'm now doing sets at 90lbs....

Hard to believe how far I've come in a year!
I've learned to love it <3

By having SuperFit push me to my max and believe in my 'power'...


I've developed a strength I never thought I had!
No..he's not supporting himself ;)

I am now able see my own potential in the workouts I do!
(I am confident in pushing myself, on my own, to even greater heights!)

I will admit the following:

When I train alone, I think of SuperFit!

Not in a 'lovee dovee' way:

Awwww ;)

 But in the 'I'm here to train!' way...

To Getter Done!

Always repeating SuperFit's line:

"Cahmon Fu...One more, this is the one that counts!"

It never gets old.

Cooking with Fu...

Here are a FU recipes I've either cooked for myself or SuperFit.

They are all clean, healthy and SuperFit approved :)

I screwed up whatever I was making that day...

**Please note I may possibly be the worst at giving recipe instructions...but I'm trying and having FUn while I'm at it!** :)


1. Pizza!!!

Ingredients:

1. Blue Menu thin pizza crust or a tortilla size of your choice (nice & easy!)
2. Tomato Sauce (low cal. low carb)
3. Allegro Cheese (60 cal. per serving, 1 gram of fat, 2 carbs, 11 grams of PROTEIN!)
4. Lean Chicken (sliced and grilled), or any other lean meat of your choice
5. Mushrooms
6. Cherry Tomatoes
7. Spinach
8. Onions
9. Tablespoon of Pesto (if you like it)
10. Salt and Pepper to taste

The ingredients are bonding well ;)

In a Fry Pan sprayed with olive oil, add veggies, cooked chicken and seasonings over Medium High Heat

In the meantime...

Set oven at 400F

Remove crust from packaging and add tomato sauce (don't go sauce crazy)

Dance. (lol)

Once ingredients are nice and hot...
(I like to cook my veggies prior to topping my pizza...personal preference)

Carefully spread them out on the pizza!

Then...

Cheese It!

Place in heated oven until crust and cheese browns!

Enjoy!

This is not a personal size pizza...sharing is encouraged ;)

2. Oven-baked FUngerling Potatoes

1. Golden or Ruby Red FUngerling Potatoes (okay okay, it's Fingerling!)
2. Onions (chopped in rings - I'm not really sure how I managed to do that - Trial and Error!)
3. A teaspoon of dried Rosemary
4. A dash of Paprika (optional)
5. Olive oil (I always use spray olive oil)
6. Salt and Pepper to taste

Wash and Pat dry the FUngerlings...


Cut each Fungerling into halves

Combine all ingredients into a large bowl until everything has been evenly coated.

Pre-Heat Oven at 375F

Do the Robot....

It was like Serendipity...

Place the coated FUngerlings into an oven safe casserole..

Yummehhhh!

Bake until you can easily stick a fork through the potatoes!
This is my testing tool...you may have a better one (which wouldn't surprise me lol)

(40 minutes'ish)

3. Sweet Potato Fries

1. Sweet Potatoes
2. Spray Olive Oil
3. Cinnamon 
4. Salt
The Famous Sweet Potato!

Cut sweet potatoes into fry-like shapes (split down middle first then go from there)
They are tough to cut...so use your muscles!

Pre-Heat Oven at 375F

Dance...

Never a dull moment!

Place Fries onto a baking pan and sprinkle on some cinnamon and salt...
(I love the taste cinnamon gives them!)

Bake for approx. 40 minutes (or until desired crispiness...moving them around once or twice)

Sweet Goodness!

We enjoy these with....

4. Char Crusted Blackened Chicken

Low cal, low carb and simply mouthwatering good!
You can order this online if you can't find it in-store...

Spray chicken with olive oil and evenly coat it with Char Crust (the Original is the best!)

In a fry pan, over medium heat, cook chicken until there ain't no Pink...

It looks burnt but it's not....
Hence the Blackened Chicken ;)

Serve...

and Enjoy :)

Oh, but don't FUget your greens!

This dressing is really good!
Renee's Pomegranate Blueberry Acai
5 Calories, 1 carb and 0 Fat per serving.

5. J.E.L.L.O Dessert....(or snack) :)

A little Jello Goodness for FUn (but I try and limit my aspartame intake)

Top it with Yogurt 
(preferably Greek as it's loaded with Protein!)
If you like Cottage Cheese, go for it!
