Recipe: Let Go My Egg Oats!

Hey! 

Let Go My Egg Oats!

I'm serious.

I still can't get over the fact...

I've never once made Egg Oats!!! (In my almost 2 year anniversary since my healthy lifestyle change!)

Reason being...

I've only ever had eyes FU my Protein Pancakes! (And I'm sure you all know by now how much I love them!)

Well...

Thing have changed! (I still love my Protein Pancakes, and always will...but it's time to move on and try new things lol)

Overtime...

I've heard about people mixing in their Egg Whites with their Oats, but...

That sounded pretty repulsive to me! (I couldn't fathom the thought of your Eggs cooking with your Oats! Ew. Although it is a similar concept to the pancakes...whatever, still gross! lol)

That being said...

I decided to give it a try! (I must be going FU'in nuts!)

BeFUre experimenting...

I did a little research to find out how exactly this whole thing works! (I realize it's not rocket science, but I wanted to be sure....)

No recipe I found called FU Quick Oats (which is all I had in the house), so...

It was simply going to have to make do! (Not the FUrst and won't be the last time I tweak a recipe! Where's the FUn in that!) :)

But one thing's FU sure...

Every single tip I gathered from my research was:

Whisk, Stir or Mix around the Egg Whites and Oats as soon as they meet! (So as to evenly spread it around! I took this tip very seriously lol)

I will admit...

I was very excited to give this Egg Oats thing a try because...

It would be my FUrst day with carbs in a while! (I put a lot of faith into this breakFUst!)

So...

Here we go!

I put 1/2 cup of Quick Oats into my BreakFUst bowl!

Pretty easy.

I then gathered some of the essentials and some of my FUvorite ingredients!

Almonds, FUlax Seeds, Kamut Puffs and of course...
Egg Whites.

I brought my water to a boil, and...

Poured it slowly into my bowl! (I mixed the Oats and water to my desired thickness! I don't like watery Oatmeal!)

I then poured my Egg Whites into the mix! (This was a bit nerve wracking!)

I stirred it all around as fast as I could...

Only to realize it was watery! (Oh great! This is probably why most people cook it over the stove! lol)

I decided to put this goo in the microwave as this was surely going to solve the problem! (It did!)

I put it in FU 1 minute and stirred it around.
I put it back in the microwave FU another minute and it was perFUct!
Notice the FUluffiness of the Oats!

I added some Vanilla Stevia FU FUlavor and mixed it around some more!

I put in a total of 2 Packets.
You could do 3 depending on how sweet you want it!

I then added 1 Cup of Kamut Puffs...

My FUrst try at these!
Found them in the Organic Section at the Grocery Store.
I wanted to add a little crunch!
1 Cup =
 50 calories, 0 Fat and 11 Carbs.

In addition to...

Almonds and FUlax Seeds!

Mmmm...Mmmm...Good!
Doesn't it look good?!
I was so excited to try it out!

BeFUre you knew it...

I was digging in to my FUrst bowl of Egg Oats!

Nom.

After taking my FUrst bite...

I realized it was repulsive after all!

 I didn't like it one bit ;)

The Honest Verdict:

I loved it! I will deFUnitely include this in my 'diet' rotation!!! (Protein Pancakes and Egg Oats will simply have to take turns!) ;)

It is safe to say...

My eyes have now been opened to the wonderFUl world of Egg Oats! 

Note:

It would also be great with Banana and Berries! (But that bowl will simply have to wait until post FUtoshoot!)

Let Go My Egg Oats Recipe!

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup Quick Oats
6 Egg Whites
1 Cup Kamut Puffs (optional)
1 Tablespoon of FUlax Seeds
6 Almonds
2 Packets of Vanilla Stevia
Dash of Cinnamon (optional)
Optional ingredients: Fruit of your choice.

Instructions:

- Place Oats into a microwave safe bowl.

- Pour in boiling hot water to your desired consistency. Stir.

- Add 6 Egg Whites and mix it all together so as to evenly spread the Eggs and Oats.

- Place bowl into microwave and set for 1 minute. Stir mixture around.

- Place it back for another minute. Stir mixture once again until eggs have fully absorbed into the Oats. **It should form a fluffy like consistency...Continue heating up until you reach a thick texture (there should be no egg white chunks or liquid present)**

- Add your Vanilla Stevia (or sweetener of choice). Stir.

- Add the remaining toppings and...

Enjoy!

I know I did!
I also added some Cinnamon to top :)

**Next time, I will try making overnight Egg Oats. I will put the Egg Oats (only) in the fridge, overnight, and then add the remaining ingredients. That way, the Kamut Puffs will stay crunchy...longer**
