Recipe: CHILI'ng with FU!

Is it me or is it CHILI outside?! (I know, lame use of a pun!)

Well...it's HOT in FU's Kitchen! ;)
We'll get to the story behind this FUto momentarily!
I realize how cheesy I can be at times! (Fine, all the time lol)

If you haven't already guessed...

I'll be sharing and detailing with you...

My very FUrst attempt at making Chili! (SuperFit is an avid fan, yet I've never ever made a single pot of it! I'm terrible, I know lol)

After coming across a recipe via Snack Girl ~click~... 

I thought "Holy Schmokes, Chili is Super Duper Easy to make!"

From that moment on...

I planned to surprise SuperFit with one of his FUvorite meals! (I do realize it took me a hell of a long time to FUnally make this FUmous dish! I never grew up with it so I never had any desire to eat it, try it or let alone make it!)

After looking through the list of ingredients...

I decided to tweak it a little! (FUll recipe and instructions will FUllow shortly and by shortly I mean at the end of this blog!) 

In other words...

I dared to make a Chili...FU's Way! (I guess I was in the mood to experiment! I mean this was a momentous occasion after all!)

Some of my added FUlavors were as FUllows...

Montreal Steak Spice.
I switched up the Lean Ground Beef FU Extra Lean Ground Sirloin.
Tomato Paste.
And Worcestershire Sauce.

The recipe I found called FU one particular secret ingredient...

Cocoa Powder.
It's chocolate, so how could I not trust it would good?!

Once I prepared the essentials to making a FUbulous Chili (well I sure hoped so seeing I had a Chili Expert by my side!)...

Black and White Beans.
 (I also had Kidney Beans in the mix)
Plum Tomatoes.

It was time to put everything together! (Here we go!)

FUrst...

I browned the meat!

I find Ground Meat has no appeal whatsoever!

I then added the Mixture of Beans!

I drained them, of course. 
In they go! 
ColourFUl ain't it?!

I made sure to be careFUl while mixing things around! (So as not to break ~smooooosh~ the Beans!)

Carrre-FUl.

Soon came time to add the Spices, Plum Tomatoes and Paste...

Stirring and Spreading the FUlavor around.

As soon as everything was said, done and in the pot...

I let it simmer!

FU about 1.5 hours on low heat.
Occasionally stirring.
It can be ready to serve and eat in less than 20 minutes to be honest.
It thickened up every time I went to stir.
I was excited FU the FUnal product!

I spiced it up a little as I went along to make it just right! (Adding personal touches and FUlavoring things to your liking is always FUn because it gets your creative and culinary juices FUlowing!)

I should let you know...

I assigned SuperFit as my Official Taste Tester! (He's the Expert after all!)

He took his job very seriously.

When it came time to taste...

I made sure to observe all body movements (cringes) and FUcial reactions (grimaces) as soon as the spoon approached and inserted his mouth!

I was relieved when he posed FU me with complete satisFUction!

SuperFit approved! (YAY!)
Now do you get the FUto? ;)

Once served...

SuperFit would ofFUcially be able to enjoy his very FUrst bowl of Chili made by FU! (Awwww!)

Taddaaaa!

Now...

On my FB page (www.facebook.com/CandyFit), I promised to share the recipe if it turned out to be a success! (I'm thinking I did okay considering I got the Ab FUlash and he licked his bowl clean!)

That being said...

Here's the recipe!

FU's Style Chili:
(Adapted from Snack Girl)

Ingredients:

1lbs of Extra Lean Ground Sirloin
1 (15 ounce) Can of Kidney Beans
1 (15 ounce) Can of White Beans
1 (15 ounce) Can of Black Beans
1 (6 ounce) Can of Tomato Paste
1 (28 ounce) of Plum Tomatoes
1 tablespoon of Olive Oil
5 tablespoons of Chili Powder
1 tablespoon of Cumin
2 tablespoons of Cocoa Powder
1 teaspoon of Worcestershire Sauce
1 tablespoon of Montreal Steak Spice
Salt and Pepper taste (yep I added a little pepper too) 

**I would also add Chili Flakes the next time around! (Yep, there's a next time!)**

Instructions:

In a large saucepan over medium high heat, heat up your olive oil and brown your meat.

Add Worcestershire Sauce and Montreal Steak Spice as the meat is cooking. 

Once browned, add your (drained) beans. Mix it around. 

Add your spices to the mix and continue stirring so as to evenly spread the flavor.

Let it simmer for about 1.5 hours (stirring occasionally). Note: it can be served and ready to eat in about 20 minutes (I just wanted everything to soak up all the yummy spices!).
