5.5. Weeks Out: Baby FU Gets to FU'in Carb Load!!

**Week: June 6-10**

You probably know by now  I don't give in to temptation...

I have yet to try their CuPcAkEs

Unless I've been given the green light!

Point to note: Although I talk a lot about food and all the things I wish I could try (or have), I have learned the importance of a healthy balance.

After my competition, I plan to continue on with a structured 'diet' and exercise regime that works for me!

Meaning...

Finding a balance to maintain the physical appearance I want to have (keeping my muscle mass and putting on some more, which = eating a little more!)

When I started, my goal was to pursue a healthy and active lifestyle (even if it took me a little while to get into it).

Competing was added months down the road and was never part of the plan; it was the FUrthest thing from it. Nothing against the sport, it was just something I had never even considered doing in my lifetime, seeing I was so inactive and unhealthy.

Choosing to compete was a personal choice. One that would challenge me in the most unimaginable of ways in the world of Fitness!

It will deFUnitely be a milestone in my Journey of becoming...

Fit and Healthy.

I FU'in do not believe in the "I lost the weight, now I can eat it all back" mentality. I want to stick the decision I made in changing my lifestyle to a healthier one!

That doesn't mean I can't treat myself with the FU'd I love...

Droool!!!

It simply means I need to continue being sensible and conscious in the FU'd choices I make from here on out!

Summer 2010
The Tuna wrap was great!
I was tired after my first 70km bike ride!

Back to my prep...

I ended up doing a small grocery run mid-week as I started running low on some of my daily essentials...

Of course the goodies were for SuperFit :)

When I got home after this quick trip, I ate my afternoon snack...

Egg Whites, Tuna and Spinach

And made my way to the gym for some good ol' FUshion cardio...

Not Drunk lol

Sometimes...

Time goes by really FU'in slow (on a machine), so I was happy to have a little company (even if it was just for a FU minutes)

BAM! It's 007!

When I got home, I made SuperFit's dinner and my morning snack and lunch for the FUllowing day (on the BBQ, of course)...

BBQ Chicken FUngers...
Pure example of "this is mine and this is yours"

They looked and smelled so delicious.

UnFUrtunately, mine did not.
I won't be cooking these on the BBQ again.

Ah well, Protein is Protein after all.

The next time I made them, I threw 'em in a FUry pan (no oil)...

They didn't stick!

Much better!

I find it really cuts down on time when I make my meals for the FUllowing day while preparing dinner...

I don't have to rush like a mad woman in the morning!

For example...

As I cooked my chicken FUngers (for the second time around), SuperFit's dinner was in the making and so was mine....

Beef FUried Rice for him...

And...

Filet of Sole with Spinach and Peppers for her ;)

4 meals done in less than 45 minutes!
You can't ask for better time management skills than that lol

Moving on...

I should tell you I received some FU'in awesome news in regards to my 'diet'...

"FU, you are going to carb load for the next 4 days"

I don't know what it's like to eat carbs numerous times a day, but...

I ain't complaining!

I should mention...

This week was tough for me as my energy levels were low and I was increasingly getting more and more tired

As a result...

I was a bit more irritable than usual.

My FUel tank was running on low and it was OfFUcially time to FU'ller up!

SuperFit knows all too well that...

The #1 indicator I'm running on empty is when...

I get quiet and don't speak unless I have to! - It could be worse ;)

All that said...

I had some meal planning to do!
(I was excited about this because I was now able to eat FU'ds with FUlavor (yay for spices!))

The night beFUre I started my carb loading...

SuperFit took me out FU dinner at Siam Bistro (an amazing Thai Restaurant!)

We started off with...

Chicken Soup in a hot and sour broth.

And for our main course we had...

Eggplant, Shrimp and Basil Chicken.
I didn't have rice (this is SuperFit's plate)

Let's just say I went from....

Sleepy Eyed...

To Bright Eyed!
I was one Happy and talking Baby FU!

The next 4 carb loading days would include some of the FUllowing...

Greek Yogurt, Oatmeal and Vanilla Stevia  (FU FUlavor!)

MMmmm Mmmmm Gooooood!

I'm deFUnitely Happy and High on Energy!

And of course I had my...

 Oatmeal Protein Pancakes!

In addition to this FUlavorFUl goodness, I actually had the opportunity to try my BBQ'd Veggies!

They were delicious! :)

Enjoying his BBQ dinner

And me, even more so!
Yum Yum :)

Let's just say...

My FUel tank was no longer running on empty...

and...

The carb load did me some good both...

Physically and mentally!

It also gave me some much needed energy for yet another killer workout on the TRX...

I was ready FU anything!

But soon remembered...

How FU'in hard this workout can be!!!

We ended off with...

Leg Curls.
We dropped set; hence the light weight ;)

By the end of it...

I was FU'in POOPED!

Tired or not...

I still made room for a little posing...

I'm getting better :)

When I got home I tried out a new post workout snack...

Using my new Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Powder!!!!

Drool!

I blended...

1 Scoop of Protein Powder (FUlavor of your choice)
2 tbsp of Greek Yogurt
12 ounces of Water
1-2 Packs of Vanilla Stevia
1/2 tsp of Xanthan Gum (for thickening - Gluten Free)
1 HandFUl of Spinach (I promise you can't taste it!)
4 Ice Cubes

**Hard Ice Cream: FUreeze mixture once blended. Once FUrozen, put it back in the blender. Enjoy! p.s. Don't use ice cubes if you are FUreezing it! lol**

Optional Ingredients:

Instead of water, use 1 1/2 cups of Unsweetened Almond Milk (Original, Vanilla or Chocolate)
1 tbsp of Ground Flax or Chia Seeds
1-2 tbsp of Cocoa Powder
1/2 Banana
1/2 cup of Berries

The InFUmous & Almighty Blender!

So thick...

And Creamy!

It's like a big bowl of Soft Ice Cream!

And FU all those cringing at the though of Spinach...
You can't even taste the it!

I DeFUnitely enjoyed my Choco PB Protein Bowl!

During my 5th week...

There were a lot of Highs! (and a FU lows)

Baby Fu not happy :(

As I'm approaching the competition date, the 'diet' and training are both becoming more and more intense...

There is absolutely no room to FU'll around (as it may compromise my results!)

All to say...

I'm that much closer to reaching one of my biggest FUtness goals!
