Let's begin with a little history:
For the past year, I've been working my way towards a "fit" me. I can't say "fitter" as I've never been fit in my life although, this was something I'd always aspired to do but was far too lazy to ever pursue. No motivation and absolutely no inclination to do anything about it. Ever.
So the question is:
"What really pushed me to follow a life of fitness?"
It was a comment made by my brother a year ago today (coincidentally) - We'll call him Mr. FUntastic:
"Baby Fu, this is the biggest I've ever seen you!"
This isn't something you ever want to hear....even when you ask for the truth. It would be comparable to someone asking if their jeans make them look fat and you reply "yes they do". That'll cheer you up! I don't know why we ask these questions....but I'm glad I did!
Truth be told, this was enough to make me reflect on where I was headed, which was pretty darn close to what they would now consider OBESE (which I later learned). Uh Oh!
So....What now? What do I do? Where do I start?
Can I still have my cake and eat it too?!! No...not at first ;)
I think the toughest thing about eating right and exercising is knowing where to start and how to do it....the right way. From a life filled with restaurants, socially drinking, snacking 24/7, skipping out on meals, *CaNdY* shopping, treat eating and doing absolutely nothing to work it off....this would eventually catch up with me (I probably shouldn't have been surprised by this). With all of that in mind, how would I even know where to begin?! I had no idea how to get started, which is actually quite discouraging if you think you're ready for change but have absolutely no direction- no matter how little or big the change may be.
Sometimes you just need a little push to get you going....and,
That push led me to Florida Fitness Aylmer. The best thing that could have ever happened to me.......in more ways than one :)
